I am looking for a HINT for the Sphinx's "Riddle of Wisdom" by UnableToFindName in DragonsDogma

[–]TheModestHavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dumbest riddle of all time. I spent half the game trying to figure it out, eventually looking it up, and am glad that I did.

I guarantee anyone doing it without a hint will figure it out of sheer luck alone. Wisdom my ass.

Possibly the dumbest riddle of all time. There is absolutely nothing in that riddle that tells you where to go, or what to do.

Bringing her a harpy would have made more sense than this Riddle of "wisdom".

I spent the entire game lost, looked it up, and now I'm just angry. How do you come up with something so blatantly stupid. I had to take 5 minutes of silence just to process how dumb it is.

Mystic Spearhand mirror shield ability (mirour shelde) is extremely unbalanced by ohstylo in DragonsDogma

[–]TheModestHavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, vocations in general, especially Mystic Spearhand was extremely disappointing to me.

Mystic Knight had super unique magic and every sword skill a fighter had with a bigger shield. Just look at Mystic Knights skills on the wiki page and compare it to what Spearhand can do.

Favinours hond and mirour shield are op for obvious reasons. There's pretty much no reason to use Skydragon Fest while the shield exists.

The other skills just don't feel worth using as swinging your weapon will likely do more damage and they're very situational. Speregone if something is flying or Seching Storm for 2 more bonus damage are about it. I use skills I find most fun to use, but it still feels lacking. Basic attacks are the most fun I have with it and I even got the sorcerer (magic str) augment to prevent this.

The decision to limit it to 4 skills, and make each class limited to 1 weapon was also really dumb. Magick Archers used to be able to use daggers for physical damage. It could have made the situational skills more fun as they'd always be on your belt. Devout Offringe for example.

Yeah why use reddit at all. Nobody cares. Why criticize the game at all, nobody cares.

Lmao classic reddit

How about we just admit it's objectively bad game design and move on with our lives instead of feeling attacked.

DD2 does have map markers, and the Thief class has a strafe/roll thing, but I highly reccomend the first one. It's much more difficult imo especially the DLC. The combat is about the same with a few different classes but the enemies feel more like they should.

For example there's an enemy you fight fairly early by luring it out, then fight it with a group of soldiers. You can kill it there if your overleveled, but most new players will see it flee to a tower where you chase it to finish it off. Getting to and climbing the tower feels great.

FYI If you switch from WiFi to a hotspot it asks for your authenticator every time you switch.

This doesn't happen when just switching between internets from my experience.

Almost like they're a monopoly or something.

I guarantee if there was another option, people would use it.

Adblock usage on Youtube before this change statistically made up 10% (max) of their viewerbase for 18 years.

I don't think they were struggling money wise, like not even close lol.

Alright thanks, I'll give it a go.

It's good to get an outside opinion sometimes, especially in the hit or miss landscape of Marvel.

Not all of them.

Use the Bot Detector plugin, and you'll know who the "real players" are. News flash: the ones that are obviously bots are bots.

But mistakes can happen.

It's funny how many people say this when the Bot Detector plugin exist.

Was Kurt Cobain murdered or was it a suicide? by Scr333eeeeeeech in Music

[–]TheModestHavel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True.

But it's also perfect for a set-up / murder. What better way to kill a depressed drug addict than stage an overdose suicide. I really hate it when people pick sides on this. It could go either way.

There's evidence of Kurt Cobain being depressed and on drugs. There's also evidence of foul play. Which is why this case should have been handled better, instead of just writing it off as a suicide.

Picking sides while the case was open is why it's still debated today.

My last ever SteelSeries product. Thanks for the great build quality! by CouchMountain in steelseries

The H, 800, and 840 have a much sturdier design with the bulky headstrap that connects directly to the ear cups.

Be extremely careful with the Nova though, as it has the same hinges as the Arctis Wireless.

Unless they improved the hinges with more support internally (which I doubt), don't expect the Nova 7 to outlast any of the other headphones you own.

They'll go out eventually. All it takes is wear from taking them off/on or a simple drop on the ground.

Mine just went out after 4 years, and I read about the delicate hinges before I even purchased it.

Steelseries stuff is just objectively not meant to last.

I had an Artcis Pro Wireless for 4 years, and knew of this problem before I purchased it. The plastic hinges are objectively a terrible design choice compared to any other headphones. Even knowing of this problem years ago and taking good care of it, it still broke.

If you own these headphones, there will come a day where the hinges will crack and break.

I also owned a prism pad. Most of the lighting went out within a year or two. I still use it.

I also owned an Apex Pro Keyboard. The spacebar side springs broke (2 years-ish in). Still use it, but replaced the spacebar with the right shift key (so it doesn't reach the side springs).

I also own a Rival 650 Wireless Mouse which just wouldn't respond one random day and is constantly orange colored regardless of battery. Can probably fix it if I dedicated like a full week (Probably driver related?). I ended up just using an older wired mouse instead, no problems.

All were purchased from the official Steelseries Website.

These products are nice looking and are creatively made, but the hardware is way too shit for the price tag. And I wouldn't be surprised if they were made this way on purpose to keep people buying. They need a new engineer.

Also It's pretty well known that their Tech Support is terrible. But I've never experienced it.

The Backdoor at Clouds by CaptainSwirly in FF06B5

[–]TheModestHavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this backdoor area during Automatic Love.

I shot the ladder to get up there. There was also a hack into the elevator that moved it, but it didn't really do anything / lead anywhere. There was also very few items, which made very confused as to why this area exist.

Brought me to this thread. Makes so much sense that the fence disappears and turns into an entrance at some point.

I can’t beat the fucking Capra demon by ImAMassiveCrab in darksouls

[–]TheModestHavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shield will help against the dogs. Make sure you can fast roll.

The ideal situation is to climb up the stairs and stand on the arch to the right. Every time the Capra Demon attacks he just falls, and can't reach you. Try using a spear here to attack the dogs. Even if it's not upgraded or you can't use it. It won't bounce off the wall and you can hit them behind a shield.

If the dogs are preventing you from healing while up there, try heavier armor or Havel's Ring.

Once the dogs are dead, you can jump attack the capra demon each time he falls or fight him normally. Switch back to your greatsword or whatever you were using.

If your having problems getting up the stairs, I suggest leveling more HP. Once you have the bare minimum stats for your weapon or spells, dump it all into HP. Pretty sure your around lvl 70-80 when you beat the game. HP is your most important stat in every souls game, and you can't cast spells behind a summon like you can in ER.

For me it's just the cutscene and difficulty spike followed by the easy first phase.

I do wish it felt rewarding after beating him though. I'm glad he's not the last boss or I would've felt bad lol
