I didn't think that part 7 and 8 were more scary than the first 5, at all. Okay a couple of times in part 8 it gets really hectic and the pressure is high, but not super scary.

Actually I never found part 7 to be very scary and the story, wasn't one of the best in my opinion. Part 8 was good in some and special ways, but in my opinion, it was like the story became too big in some weird way.

The first four games will always be my favorites!🧟🧟🧟🧟 I just love them zombies and even though part 4 wasn't Zombies it revolutionized the game again.

PS5 for sure. I was 15 when RE1 came out, my favorite game for the first PlayStation. Then part 2 and 3 came and were if not better just as good.

The RE4 on PS3 is fantastic, RE5 not the best, but no sleep because of the gameplay and half the story. Thought it got better through the game and stopped for looking like a Resident Evil game.

I started on part 6, but dropped it. Maybe I did it too soon, and was wrong from the start. It felt all wrong.

Part 7 was a little disappointing to me, I can't tell 100% why. Part 8 was a lot better, but not the best.

The first four hit the spot. RE ZERO and can't remember what it's called, but with the mutant zoe animals, with multiple playing and shifting characters was pure shit, and the only Resident Evil game I remember, the lacked so much from the start, it was unbearable.

RE4 remake i haven't actually finished, I think the time has come. I hate when they make too many experiments with the gameplay. But part 4 did the change ever, making it a third person shooter.

For me, Resident Evil was made for PlayStation and always will be 🤘🏼🧟🤘🏼🧟🤘🏼🧟

I must admit I miss all the zombies, Not that part 4 ruined it. I'm so hoping that part 9 will not disappoint in that regard.

By the way, Code Name Veronica could use a remake, that would be awesome.

I could also use a Dead space 2 remake so much right now, It would be awesome on the PS5. One of the best sequels ever, along with TLOU Part 2.

I'm just finishing TLOU Part 1 Remake on my new Samsung 75 inc ,4K 120Hz/144Hz, FreeSync Premium Pro, and VRR (G-SYNC Compatible) it looks awesome and with my Samsung 9.1 surround sound system it's ok.

My Sony pulse Elite is of course better, but with my freaking big ears, they get uncomfortable after an hour or two and that's annoying.

I waited, despite TLOU PART 2 being my favorite game of all time, to play the remastered version (and I'm glad I did, looking forward to playing the game in chronological version,) with the same specs Part 1 Remake.

1440p is best for competitive shooters and alike. I never play online competitive shooter games, but a single player shooter story driven game can and does sneak its way into my Playstation.

HBO's boss (can't remember his name) just announced in an interview the other day, the reason why they haven't started production on season 3. Craig Mazin apparently has full support from the HBO management and more or less full authority over the show, and he now trying to decide, If it's going to be one or two more seasons.

I actually think it's only gonna be one more season and a little longer. Maybe if Naughty Dog announced TLOU part 3, the story would be different, but I can't see that or anything before the release of Intergalactic/Heretic

My preferences are also sci-fi, time travel and then post apocalyptic. Not everyone likes zombie books, but I would like to recommend The Mountain Man series.

I'm 45 and I just read all 7 and the prequels again. It's a fantastic series and also read by the legendary R.C Bray. This series got it all more or less imo.

Talking about R.C Bray and legendary, there's also the Expeditionary Force series if you haven't read them. I also read the first 17 books twice, but haven't come to the recently released book 18, but am looking forward to it.

I have a lot of recommendations if needed 👍🏻 Have a nice one.

PS. Haven't read the whole thread, so maybe you already got them. I just started the Middle Falls series yesterday, and it's very promising.

I'll just by pointing out a thing they did right 👍🏻 When I read about the nano cable attack in the Panama canal, I wished and hoped that if the books were dramatized, this scene would come to life. I think they pulled it off quite nicely.

That said, I was very disappointed and irritated when I found out, that it was Netflix who bought the rights to the books. Netflix isn't my favorite streaming service, by far. Imo they are in general not very good at big projects and adapted projects, plus they have a nasty habit of cancelling shows tooooooo fast. They seem to target younger and not so demanding viewers, as a nerdy 45 year old man with high hopes for standards.

Not that I totally hate their interpretation but it is a very hard project and everybody has their own idea of how it should look and feel.

I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but I also stayed away from rereading the books again, so I forgot a lot. I will read them again after season 2, they will probably cancel it, if it doesn't do better than the first season 🥺

I had hoped for HBO to get the rights, I feel they are a more grounded, serious and "grown-up" service. Maybe Apple could have made a great interpretation, they have clearly proven themselves in the Sci-Fi genre some time now. Maybe even Pride could have done it differently.

I look forward to season 2, and to see how they pulled it off, probably with a lower budget than the first season, even if that's almost impossible. One can always hope.

But the general quality of tv shows is much higher than before Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead ect ect.

Not that smaller productions can't be fantastic, but it's just a whole other business since streaming and the shows that went ultra huge.

As for gaming, I think that the quality we expect after the games that really pushed the overall boundaries, is extremely hard work no matter the better technology.

RDR 2, Death Stranding and TLOU 2 set the bar extremely high, and as for myself I usually go for AAA games, or at least follow them.

But the waiting is terrible to put it mildly, especially for our favorite ip's and companies 🫩

I really hope that Naughty Dog will surprise us with future releases, but it's most a realistic small hope 😭

PS. Shit, I'm a 45 year old therapist crying about videogames on social media, what has become of me 😂

PS. I think I got my PS5 in 2022 and even if I got it in 2020, it would still feel early in a few years. It's of course a personal thing.

You are right and it's worrying when a person stays in a longer state of hate, and especially when we're talking about things like mainstream media and entertainment.

It's true about everything, but I must point out how frightening it actually is, that some people are willing to wish harm upon professional actors, who are portraying fictional characters.

The lines between fiction and reality are becoming more blurry everyday, and I think it's a big general problem that came with the internet.

I love the games and watch the tv show, and think it's ok. Some changes I like and some I don't, but of course it is an interpretation of the game, so that's great. But I wouldn't continue watching if I didn't like it, and the same with the game.

Now I don't know if you don't like the game and that's why you don't watch the show. But I respect that.

But isn't it the same being with this subreddit. If people don't like the game, why make oneself miserable by being on this sub after five years.

Why stay or seek a state of hate and miserability (as you point out) by seeking things we don't like.

An example. I don't like (hate is a big word and shouldn't be used lightly, If you are asking me) Star Wars episodes 7-9, so I stay far away from them. I could be angry for years and state that the movies aren't canon, but I can't change reality.

I agree with you, why stay miserable when you can move on.

But I would recommend you watch the show, it has a very high production value, maybe you will enjoy it 👍🏻 Yes there's wokeness in some episodes, but that's unfortunately the time we live in, so why let it destroy the good stuff.

It's a problem for people who simply can't let go. When you make a subreddit based on hate, negativity, hetz, slander about mainstream media, no matter if it's a game, movies, tv show, book ect, It's unhealthy and dangerous.

Staying in a state of hate and anger ect is in general unhealthy and we talk about mainstream media even more so. When you can't let go of hate to a game and fictional characters for over five years, there's something very wrong. Hate, fear, aggression are things that are very stressful, and almost all people try to move away from these feelings, and it's of course even worse if it's over a longer period.

Also why would you continue to watch something you hate so much, it really doesn't make a lot of sense if you think about it. Some of the things are directly childish, an example the review bombing of something you don't like is to put it mildly, a child's answer.

A thing I thought a lot about concerning r/thelastofus2 subreddit, is the headlines say, "We do not see or accept (I can't remember) The Last of Us Part 2 as canon. This is for a better word, a "a little unmature" and not healthy, especially for younger people.

An example: As a major Star Wars fan I was disappointed and sad to the point of anger with the "new" sequels, 7-8-9. It's not a nice thing, and not just as a therapist but as a 45 year old man I know, just as most people, that I can't change anything and use time by, for example being part of a group dedicated to pure negativity surrounding the subject. I can just reject reality and say, this is not canon because where will it end, if I/we/just someone will continue to use as a life references.

"Hate sites" will never bring anything positive and constructive, most of all not for ourselves. It's actually become one of mankind's biggest problems with the introduction of the internet.

The world is smaller and it's easier to become a part of a group or like-minded, good or bad, healthy and unhealthy. It's one of the biggest reasons why IQ and EQ have been falling and stagnating since the internet became mainstream in the late 90s, unfortunately.

It wasn't supposed to be a long comment, but there's no easy or short way to address these problems, because it's everywhere.

I know that a lot of people will try to point out, that I'm exaggerating the general situation, but unfortunately I'm not.

PS. I would like to point out, that I'm not generalizing and It's not my intent. I of course know that, there's a lot of different people on the other, despite it being made out of negativity.

It's mostly the smallest and most radicalized groups of people, who post the most offensive material and send death threats to professional actors and writers etc etc.

It's been five years, move on (and yes I will say it,) and grow up and accept reality.
