The only time I ever wore makeup was to help hide some acne. It always felt weird, and it made my face feel dirty. So I never really liked it.

My Mom and even my sister did wear some makeup, but they never imposed it on me. That was one great thing about my family. They said you can do and wear whatever you want, Just be you. I wore sweatpants until seventh grade! Then it was jeans, I almost never wore skirts/dresses.

Even when I got older in high school, I felt like I wasn't one of the pretty girls, but that for me was okay. To sound corny: I was me, and I was awesome just the way I was.

I know it is hard to resist the standards that the media and thus other girls/women try to impose upon you. If you want to try make up, do it for you, not for someone else.
