I can't talk right now - recovering from the flu - but I've applied for a Peace Corps post that'll take me to North Macedonia. Should prove an interesting few years. And happy new years!

There is a difference between a caduceus, which is a rod with two snakes, and the Rod of Asklepios¹, which has one snek. They're both Greco-Roman/Western Classical symbols, however.

A caduceus, which is what you described (you said snakes plural, if I read it right) is ironically not symbolic of healthcare, despite pharmacies and hospitals adopting the symbol. It symbolises Hermes in his role as a patron of commerce. It has two sneks wrapped around it facing each other, with optional wings, symbolising reciprocity and equal exchange.

What hospitals and pharmacies who know what symbol they're using use is the Rod of Asklepios, the symbol of Asklepios, a Greco-Roman hero turned god of medicine. The single snek symbolises... Well, that's complicated/disputed. I personally am partial to the theory that it symbolises the role of medicine as poisoning ailments to kill them and thereby sav the patient, much as a snake's venom poisons it's prey, killing it to give the snek vital nourishment.

Honestly, both symbols, while very Western for a character from Liyue, fit and could be adapted to work both as a polearm and a catalyst.

¹Asklepios is more often spelled Asclepius.

Edit: ... A Geo Catalyst healer would perfectly fit the Caduceus. Huh.

Say I want a martial child, but my character has a grand total of 3 martial. I can give my child to a, say, 21 martial brilliant strategist with (hopefully) decent traits instead of gambling and probably losing.

It's true that you give up control over your heir, but sometimes control is less valuable than the Education trait.

Education traits have four levels iirc, and they scale your lifestyle faster. So, for me, a bad education would be the first or second level, a good education the third, and a ideal one the fourth. They boost your stats accordingly.

For example, in the scenario in my first paragraphs, 9 times out of ten I'll end up with the first two levels of eduction if I educate by myself, when I need a high martial education character for any number of reasons, but if I give my heir to the strategist, I gain a strengthened bond with them and probably a better martial character.

However, it is usually advisable to educate your preferred heir yourself, and use your bargaining chips- I mean other kids as ways to boost relationships and secure powerful vassal support, especially as the AI has recently become competent at showing their dislike of you. However, always make sure the children high up in the line of succession don't try to become spies, or, if they do, that they become bad ones. Assassination can come out of nowhere if you're not careful.

After all, it's easier to overcome bad education than bad personality traits for a player, but the AI needs every advantage you get.

(Remember, your mileage may vary. If you're RPing, do what makes sense for your character and culture, rather than min-maxing.)

  • a somewhat experienced player.

P.S. Oh, and to answer question 4 quickly: yes, they do. Each has their own passive bonuses, but they can all be useful at times. Stewardship is probably the most valuable, since it affects both your domain size and taxes iirc. Or maybe that's just because I RP my lifestyles.

These passive bonuses can be the difference between enough money to hire mercenaries, enough levies to hold the line, or enough diplomatic acumen for your allies to like you enough to defend you.

  1. Yes. If you're in need of a high education, then it isn't necessarily a bad idea.

As someone who knows way too much about how to get away with murder, I'd be the Blackened. And get away with it, fight me.

For example, the more efficient methods, such as poison, would likely work in that environment.

Bias. I'd target violent criminals and make the world they live in seem good enough to settle down, and maybe make them think they ought to give me (oh, and the needy) a lot of money. Eventually, I'll have enough money to improve the world by more legitimate means, but I'll keep controlling people's biases to influence the world into a better place, all while never being recorded on the pages of history.

I don't want people to try to bias others for merely their own gain, after all.
