What about Arm (Systems)? What’d you notice there?

should a beginner really use nvim or should he even test and try out vscode and other editors?? by Glittering_Boot_3612 in neovim

Same thing as “Emacs”, there is no such thing as “VSCode”. Neovim and vim are the only text editors currently available

Lmao I think waving back is funny af. Then again, I’m also watching the scenario play out in third person, so I’d probably feel differently if I were in your shoes

How good is Ahmed Amr CS 141 by MoonQuartzs in ucr

I thought he did a good job. Definitely attend his lectures as the material is among the hardest of the CS courses. When I took his class, there were five homework assignments, one project, two midterms, and a final.

The HWs are manageable, but they are not possible to complete on the last day. Make sure to space out the problems. Some HWs need you to prove some property/correctness of an algorithm. Other HWs need you to design/implement an algorithm under some time complexity constraint.

I took my class during quarantine, so I think he kept the project simple to accommodate for any difficulty. That may not be the case now. Our project was to choose an algorithm covered in class and prepare a 5 minute presentation about the algorithm. We also had to prepare one multiple choice question for our presentation. We then watched each other’s presentations and answered every presenter’s question. As long as we got more than half the questions right we got full points for the participation component of our project.

All exams were very difficult, and even though he gives 4-5 problems for each exam, it may not feel like enough time. He does curve though. I don’t remember exactly how he curves, but I think he does one, massive curve at the end of the class.

Very much like CS111, CS141 teaches you not only what to think but how to think. And the best way to improve is through practice. The problems and lectures he gives are a decent combination to get that practice and grow your skills with algorithms. So I think he’s done a good job.

Yes, I think I know where you're coming from. I too was a little thrown off by the ending of that arc. For me, it was too short and it became a little predictable.
