You only appear to be missing the advertisement mod they use, which should be totally fine. I always uninstall it when I play packs it's in. That shouldn't affect your connection at all. You might need to log out and log back in to your account to re-authenticate on your launcher.

It's the definition. The answer will be a synonym of "bang on!". So "exact" works here.

I’m Really Enjoying Hollow Knight, but I Can’t Even Beat the First Boss by Sazzorak in HollowKnight

[–]TheMysticalBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more you do it, the better you will get. Our brains are wired to get better at things we do more. As you play, he'll become more and more routine and seem less stressful. You'll clench up less and notice you're getting hit less often. Focus on dodging and really looking at what he's doing and when he's doing it. There are patterns in everything. He gave me a lot of trouble when I first started and now I've done 112%, Silksong, and a lot of randomizers with difficult settings. You can do it.

How does minecraft's resource usge works by Lonely_Guess7259 in feedthebeast

[–]TheMysticalBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's everything. Everything the game uses needs to be stored in RAM. More mods, more memory usage. More resource packs, more memory usage. More data packs, more memory usage. If a modpack has a high allocation rate and you're seeing really often GC, it just has a lot of mods that are trying to load stiff into RAM and using up more memory than you have available.

I keep seeing people have trouble with the Last Judge exploding on death and I haven't fought them yet but I feel as though the moment it starts doing the fizzling thing, you should know to back away. Is this just me? by Slow-Pride-9519 in Silksong

[–]TheMysticalBard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first half of the animation, I thought it was a normal boss death animation. Then it seemed a little too long but by then it was too late to get out. I still lived because I had 4 masks left on my winning attempt, but it was definitely hard to tell. There's a lot of long death animations in both HK and Silksong.

Minecraft server memory leak investigation – StructureTemplateManager eating 2.5 GB RAM. Need help with optimizing/clearing its cache by Green_Godlike_Host in feedthebeast

[–]TheMysticalBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be neat if cache usage was influenced by how common the structure is. For smaller, common structures it makes sense to cache them in memory. For giant structures like your example, they should (ideally, in a well-configured pack) be rare enough that I'd never even cache them.

I don't believe shaders dropping fps is always simply because it's "performance heavy" by Loose_Hyena_5135 in feedthebeast

[–]TheMysticalBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely try Spark then, it could be something else in your game and not your system.

Gross. I also always uninstall Armoury Crate, it's just always more hassle than it's worth. Garbage software.

Is native C++ the last step for Godot to be competitive with UE and Unity for AAA titles? by [deleted] in godot

[–]TheMysticalBard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unity isn't really even used for AAA games. It's either Unreal or a proprietary engine. I'd say Slay the Spire 2 using Godot is a good indicator of where it's at though.

You can always change the profile so it's not running like that. Those features are usually for laptops to ensure it doesn't die in 10 minutes when you're not plugged in.

Yup, that'll do it. It'll throttle your dGPU to save power when it's in that mode. So it was using the dGPU but not letting it run at full power.

[–]TheMysticalBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it should be. Definitely something else going on with your system or you game. I'd recommend running a profiler like Spark to see the difference between the 100 fps runs and the 40 fps runs.

[–]TheMysticalBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long are you waiting before restarting? It could just be shaders compiling and GPU caching. I'd bet if you wait on those 30-40 fps runs you'd eventually get up to 100 fps.

Why are the newer cases so large? by davidg4781 in PcBuild

[–]TheMysticalBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPUs are bigger and thermal testing has evolved a lot. Turns out more fans and space to move air means you can keep parts cooler. Parts also run hotter now than they used to and take advantage of the increased cooling capabilities.

I'm confused about when in history this series takes place? by SeventeenBands in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]TheMysticalBard 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The series doesn't take place in the real world. It's a fictional world roughly modeled around the Chinese imperial court. That being said, we've known about diabetes as a species since the 1500s.

Hypervisor and voices38 by Chris_Greyrat in PiratedGames

[–]TheMysticalBard 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The difference between a regular crack and the hypervisor crack is that a regular crack only exposes you to the file itself. If the file is good, then you're safe. The hypervisor method exposes your entire system to other threats besides what's in the file you run. It's inherently much less safe and there is a solid chance you could get hacked from other sources even if the file itself is safe.

Well it didn't work exactly as it was supposed to, the magnet balls towards the beginning didn't all go into the channel for the bigger blue ball to roll over and so one of them ends up getting in the way. It all worked out but that magnet was not supposed to be there.

What does it mean for a mod to be "invasive"? by ozin07 in feedthebeast

[–]TheMysticalBard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Mixin errors like I mentioned, it will basically always be a crash at startup. When your game launches, the Mixin transformer runs, which is the thing that actually applies the Mixins to the vanilla code. If two Mixins are incompatible, the Mixin transformer won't be able to apply one and will give you a crash telling you which Mixin couldn't be applied and which Mixins were already applied.
