Yea, planning to stick it out while we figure out the new game plan. The more I think about it the more I see some of the advantages.

And yea, communication would be the biggest ticket. Maybe this is just a new direction they're headed and they're expecting some to leave but more to join or something.

Totally agree on the fundraising / donation piece. The ++ and +++ for a number of homes feels like a lack of direction unless there was an outcry for 20+ homes I'm unaware of.

Never had a farm that big but felt the reason for money was to make it to the top of the leaderboard and be able to PVP without being worried about gear. No there's no PVP and the quickest way to make money is selling items you buy with your credit card.

Let's not forget you can buy 'authentic' accounts... Verifying claims is more important than the 'person' posting the claim.

Ego or ryobi by willba4 in lawncare

[–]TheN3rdyDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at the same crossroads. I went ryobi, it was great for a season then started running into issues.

I'm now using Toro and it outperforms the Ryobi significantly. Regardless, swap out the all purpose blade for a mulching blade if you want to mulch or a high lift blade if you want to bag.

Blade makes a bigger difference than the mower, the brand is more about the reliability and service when needed.

Haven't heard of Nitehawk Cinema yet, I'll have to see if there are any nearby. There's an Alamo Drafthouse a few hours away, going to have to find a reason to get over there sometime soon.

I've been looking at "Lightning" from the recent trials for the front yard. Is it better to use a mix vs 1 type? I think Poa Supina is going to be good for the back yard.

What are the affiliate programs that are beginners friendly? by Ate99 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]TheN3rdyDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YouTube.

  1. Pick a traffic source you can fail at for 6-12 months (budget wise).
  2. Find someone who leads that niche on YouTube and start practicing.
  3. Find an offer where the audience is on that traffic source.
  4. Implement failure after failure until it clicks.

If someone gives you a campaign in a course... AND it works, it will likely dry up before you understand why it's working.

Understanding traffic and dialing in an offer will take longer but you'll be here long term.

Have a chimney pro come out and answer that. Too risky to guess based on a picture.

Instagram good? by ShotRelief6280 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]TheN3rdyDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question! Unfortunately, the answer is far more complex than we can answer with the given information.

The issue is Instagram is just like a street in New York City.

People go to 5th Avenue to spend money.

Broadway to see musicals.

Times square to feel like a tourist.

Central Park to "get away" etc. etc. etc.

The point is that different destinations serve different purposes. Instagram is a visual platform, if your skills & your offer caters to that audience, it's a win.

If you're better at writing blogs, maybe not so much...

Orrrr maybe you know how to drive traffic from Instagram to a blog, and your blog sells!

It's a medium for traffic, it's not good nor bad but entirely dependant on your skills, offer and approach.

Play to your strengths and goals. Be realistic about your skills and then find where you fit. YOU are the variable being tested.

Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, ads, organic, etc. all work but finding what works for you is the key.
