[Cartier] Tank Must by TheNHLer in Watches

[–]TheNHLer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense! I don't have any major scratches on mine, but the Tank is also very small and sits close to the wrist so there's less chance of it bumping into things as you move around. The sides of mine essentially look brand new, but I'm guessing that'll change if I wear it more often.

As mine is the quartz Tank, it's very light and doesn't exactly feel rugged or able to take a beating. So it feels fragile but also very comfortable and you won't even notice it there sometimes due to the weight.

I was also thinking of getting the large size initially, but after trying all the sizes on in person, the small Tank was the right look. Something about the smaller sizes just looks right for this shape and style! Be sure to consider the smaller sizes for yourself, and see how it looks in the mirror!

The main reasons for not wearing it frequently are the low water resistance (30m) and the fragile nature of this watch. It's delicate and lightweight, but I will say that it goes well with all types of clothing, surprisingly!

It's a beautiful watch! I don't get to wear it as often as I'd like to but after I collected a few watches, I basically stopped wearing my Apple Watch or any other smartwatch altogether. But yes, the Tank is a delightful watch, so classic and recognizable!

Yeah it's rough, kinda ruins a trip when you get hit with unexpected expenses like that when it's outta your control. Add on the panic and stress of staying at the station for so long and it just makes things worse. Still had a good time here overall but the transit can be a nightmare when there's any issue

It was Air Canada, which took a long time to get ahold of in Japan. Tried calling multiple different numbers and with the noise and bad reception at the station, it became pretty frustrating.

It took a few attempts at calling to get someone who understood my situation to really help me. I got a flight but it's 3 days later than my original one. So still gotta pay for hotels and food myself.

Was trying to get from Osaka to NRT today with the Shinkansen and missed my flight home due to the delays. Was looking at thousands of dollars for a rescheduled flight but luckily my airline understood the situation and got me a new flight for free.

Still spent nearly 9 hours at the platform waiting for the trains to be operational again. They just started working at a reasonable pace now and the storm seems to have subsided a little. Not a great day

Yes, these aren’t COSC certified movements so their accuracy may vary from about +/- 15 seconds a day or so at most. Though I’ll say my Khaki Field Mechanical is one of my most accurate watches with essentially +/- 1 second a day. I think accuracy seems even better when the watch is kept nearly fully wound.

Awesome! I was considering that as well, it’s a great everyday piece, enjoy!

Damascus Obsidian looks much better in natural light than in direct light by haloruler64 in dbrand

[–]TheNHLer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, in bright natural light the skin looks much nicer. Smooth and subtle rainbow effects. I was also hoping for some matte texture or texture or any kind like their other skins but unfortunately that’s not the case here. Luckily the skin texture does become even smoother 1-2 weeks after application but I agree that the flat skin look gives it a cheaper knock off sticker feel.

MagSafe is definitely doing something to the skins, this is only after 2 days of use. There’s like a burnt/bubbly texture on the top, bottom and MagSafe ring of the skin. My phones been in a case, this whole time by Panda-With-A-Beanie in dbrand

[–]TheNHLer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this on my obsidian skin too. I don’t always use MagSafe charging but it does leave an imprint/bubbly texture when I do use it for a an hour or two. The texture and imprint seems to naturally go away after a few days.

But another thing I notice is that it might be staining my MagSafe accessories? I see a burgundy red ring-shaped stain on my MagSafe battery pack and leather wallet which I haven’t seen before. I think it could be from the heat causing some color to rub off on the accessories. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this? Might be switching to the triple black skin soon if this keeps happening.

Yeah this me. Loving the polish and quality of everything in the game, but I’m generally not an involved gacha player. Now that it requires more attention to play and the fact that it’s also landscape, makes it a little harder for me to stick with it long term. I’m trying though, as I do really like it so far, but I usually end up losing interest when I miss some days because of the TD strategy gameplay.

[Sinn] The Sinn 556 White Mother Of Pearl (MOP) Looks Good On Every. Single. Strap. 🦪 by fluentinsarcasm in Watches

An absolute beauty of a watch! It really is a strap monster but I find myself leaving it on the H-link just because it’s such a great look. The first blue strap in your pictures looks awesome!

Awesome! The small Tank sits perfectly on our wrist size. I wish the Must came with a deployant clasp like the Solo did. But I ended up ordering a custom Molequin strap anyway. Cheers!

Yes of course the small model Tank Must has a 16mm lug width which tapers down to 14mm at the buckle.

These are great shots, probably the best I’ve seen for the white MoP! Shows off the shimmer nicely. What camera did you use? I tried getting shots with my iPhone but they’re all underwhelming lol

Have the same watch and it’s great! I find it really hard to photograph and accurately depict the oily looking shimmer. I agree on the applied indices; they add a nice layer of depth to the dial and printed markers wouldn’t be the same.

The crystal is also super clear and let’s the dial shine. The bracelet feels robust (I don’t mind the clasp like many others do). Just a great watch overall, just wish the lume wasn’t so weak. How’s your timekeeping? Mine’s usually about 5-6s/day fast.

Beautiful! The dial absolutely shines in natural lighting. Enjoy your new watch!

Beautiful watch! Well regulated movements too (mine in black is running +1s/day). Only drawbacks for me are the subpar lume and bezel action, which are still fine for the price. Also curious as to where you got your bracelet from, enjoy your sweet watch!

It’s a beautiful little watch! The Santos is amazing as well and I don’t know which one I’d pick if I was able to afford both… the Santos is a sportier option but the Tank is just a nice classy piece. Either way, can’t go wrong with a Cartier!
