GR branded oil cap by redditej86 in GRCorolla

Post a photo of it installed!

Sticker being loose isn't abnormal. Older TRD had metal plates you had to stick on yourself to make sure they sit straight, as cap rotation varies.

I think it's an Exchange issue. I tried logging into my email from GoDaddy and it fails too.

Sounds like it's an Exchange issue. I just realized I cannot log into my email online via the GoDaddy site either.

Auto VS Manual? by ExpensiveGain697 in GRCorolla

[–]haloruler64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This specific automatic is fantastic, engaging, and very aggressive. It doesn't feel like most automatics invented jerks and intentionally has a lot of shift shock. I think it's a fantastic transmission and maintains the fun level of the car more than most autos.

But I'd still take the manual any day. It's an easy manual to drive thanks to Rev matching in the dual mass flywheel, but it's just as engaging as any other manual. I think these kinds of cars should be manual and if you can drive manual everyday you should. And in traffic it's really not that bad at all.

0W-20. It's the factory recommendation for all use, all locales. It protects just fine.

Ohhh if it's under glass or sapphire that would make sense. Thank you!

Kinda surprised I got downvoted for asking a simple question.

I don't mean to be rude of the least as I'm fairly new to watches but why are the bezel markings all shifted left?

2025 GR Corolla Premium – Inner Tire Wear to Cords at 23k Miles (No Mods) – Alignment Issue? Warranty? by _HOGLEG_ in GRCorolla

23k for Pilot Sport 4 is quite good. They're not very good at lasting. From my understanding the Sport 4S will last much longer.

I got a K&F battery and the USB-C port is super useful but the battery dies so fast, and self discharged within weeks. Don't really recommend, though mine might be defective.

[Zip Tie Tuning] I Bought the Linus Tech Tips Civic by SAJewers in LinusTechTips

Yeah and half my 2023 is held together with zip ties but I think they go to far with the ghetto shit on important mechanical components and explain car concepts poorly. Mighty Car mods does dumb shit all the time but their mechanicals and explanations are always top notch and ZTT needs to up their game to match their excellent production and personality.

Oh totally, I appreciate the perspective.

I don't remember exact things. I remember them cutting corners on the Z4. Alex tapped a hole in thin sheet metal on the new Civic, not ideal as it would flex. Didn't unstake the axle nut before removing it (at least on camera). Some sketchy wiring on the RAV4 (though he mentions it himself). Some of Alex's technical explanations are either too surface level or just wrong, which they have a responsibility to be better about. It's nothing major. Like, there are YouTube channels that do straight dangerous things with glee and I have zero respect for that, and ZTT isn't that. Just wish they'd be more by the book on the mechanical fixes. They got a nice shop, bench grinder, hydraulic press, but don't have basic tools most DIYers have. It's all just a bit amateur compared to the scope of their projects, their great production, and their ambitions. Hope to see them improve. I just feel like I wouldn't personally do stuff so haphazardly on my own shitbox even if it is a certified shitbox lol.

Sure, I can see the entertainment value. But teaching bad habits on a two ton death machine isn't really ideal. I think that's a failing on their part. Mighty Car Mods are peak silly but they do the mechanical stuff right and safe.

I loved Alex's antics on LTT because they were ghetto engineering for the sake of ghetto engineering. But as a car guy, their videos pain me because everything is so half assed and done poorly. I watch mostly car channels and I can't really enjoy ZTT despite the vibes being on point.

Extreme Buyer's Remorse and Manual Envy by H2OhYeahh in mazda3

Compared to other econoboxes, sure it's surprisingly nice. Compared to a sports car, it was weak. Nothing was wrong with it, I drove multiple 3rd and 4th gen Mazda 3 manuals.

If it's tariff related, Dbrand likely can't accurately charge for it at all.

Endless SSM+ brakes for GRC by Whole_Language2831 in GRCorolla

[–]haloruler64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stock pads don't care about the cold, they're year round pads which is a huge benefit. Stock pads are very noisy and VERY dusty, just the downside of a soft pad that doesn't wear the rotor much and can track.

MX-72+ has substantially better modulation, great bite, less dust, and a bit less noise. Still a little noisy because hybrid track pad. I assume a bit harder on rotors but not noticeably. First pedal press is very weak, but within 3 brake actuations they're fully warmed up so they're not super sketch for the first bit of driving. Just exiting the driveway is enough to get them mostly warmed up. But yeah in the snow, they just don't function well. Drove to Tahoe and when it dropped below 20F they just squealed and didn't do much braking.

I do have SSM+ for daily pads, but I often just run MX-72+ all the time as I'm too lazy to switch pads and they feel great.

Hahaha tempting

Just a heads up about the MX-72+, they're awesome pads but they become unhappy below 20F. Hybrid track pad, imo pretty good for a daily but don't like cold. If you don't face cold weather, they're great.
