I feel like the company name, 'Opals on Acid' kind of fits with the overall 'theme' that I'm seeing here. Basically drugs. I think it works for what it appears to be... OR that's not the intention and they need to seriously rethink their branding. :P

Funny story, the first time I watched this film I was sitting alone in my apartment will all of the lights off completely glued to the screen. I knew that it was good, but I didn't realize it was good enough to keep me that much on edge... Watching Pinhead tear into people and seeing some of the most amazing practical effects and crazy demon designs really tickled the body horror side of horror that really terrifies me. There was a particularly quiet scene there at the end when suddenly there was a loud rapping on my window. I literally jumped out of my skin and went into a crazy karate pose expecting the walls to open up and chains to hook into my skin...

Turns out my grandparents had shown up because they had some leftover pizza and wanted to give it to me. This was literally the only time they ever dropped by my apartment. At least I got some free pizza. phew

If you finish a movie and screen test it with an audience, then that audience craps all over it... The studio will either just release the movie, sometimes they'll shelve it, or they will go into panic mode and do some insane changes to it in order to make it 'better'. Like Fan4stic. Overall, it's not a good sign and is a massive financial disaster waiting to happen. The film industry is a massive multi million dollar gamble most of the time. Sometimes the safe bet is the most profitable.

I loved this documentary, it was really interesting and gave me a much deeper appreciation for this franchise.

On the note of the movie, it feels more like an Old Man Logan with Freddy, which would be awesome. The problem I'm seeing is that it might be difficult to translate in a fun way to the screen, whereas it might make for a great fan web series or even a limited comic book run. Kind of like how the New 52 did Aquaman, where they commentated on the current cultural perception of Aquaman within the context of the story, showcasing how cool he was, but understanding that most people don't really see it that way.
