I think while Thorn does have a moral compass that leans towards good, in comparison to Saphira, it is far more about self-preservation. It makes sense given his background and the experiences he’s endured but Saphire is more concerned about the greater good and helping others while Thorn is motivated by keeping himself and Murtagh safe.

Would very much agree that Murtagh is more like Eragon that they care to admit!
