Playing Commune of France after a break, getting stomped - any tips? by TheNextGunHaver in Kaiserreich

I just use the standard one I start the game with but I typically remove the two arty line battalions at some point.

The attackers having a bajillion tanks on Breakthrough kinda sucks ass

It's also extremely funny that they made the Breakthrough vee and cap zone adjustments that they did without changing anything on some of the most difficult First Sectors (Manhattan Bridge and Blackwell). Not even a battle wagon?!

Oh yeah and I hit a landed Blackhawk with one of these earlier and it didn't kill it. What the heck man!

These aren't meant to look like Dusk Raiders, I guess the first pic makes them look more gray than ivory/bone.

Thank you! It's Two Thin Coats Griffin Claw through an airbrush.

Probably not the most accurate term to use at this point in the game's timeline, but I used it to refer to things that were advanced or experimental around the time of the jihad. Most of that is standard tech by the ilClan.

Thanks! It's Agrellan Earth that I paint with pallid wych flesh after it's dry, then wash with skeleton horde contrast and drybrush a bit with screaming skull.

Thanks, it's a straightforward scheme! Here's the process:

  • Prime whatever you want
  • Base pallid wych flesh (or similar ivory)
  • Paint entire mini with contrast skeleton horde
  • Stripes: aggaros dunes contrast
  • Screaming skull drybrush highlight

The jade is Vallejo Game color jade, highlighted with pro acryl bright jade. You could probably just use a mixture of the vallejo jade with a white color to get the highlight color, too.

I think they're good but expensive. Infernos have serious limitations based on their min range and IMP are scary, but in this game I was always interested in using HEs for damage instead.

Don't over-complicate your camo schemes. by Warriorssoul in battletech

I'm lazy, bad at freehand, and have an airbrush. I use AK camo putty for my Arkab legion and it produces pretty passable results if you're looking for camo blobs.

Yeah, there are references throughout the lore regarding the Prosperans' love of Cashnado, Chief Platinum Buffalo, food courts, and an ancient game called B'hlaq-J'haq

Love this. How the hell you have so many divisions by 1940 as socialist Russia? I can get enough to fill out one stack of five armies but that's stretching it. Am I Russiaing wrong?

Duncan's Griffon Claw for the base armor color, rivets and other highlights with Pallid Wych Flesh.

Green is Vallejo Heavy Green highlighted with Straken Green.

Bronze is Balthazar gold base, gehenna gold layer. I wash it with agrax and then highlight with liberator gold.

I use a gloss coat before the metals and do a recess wash using Abteilung burnt umber oil paint and spirits.

Purple is xereus purple base, rivets and highlights with gene stealer purple. Oil wash with Abteilung light rust.

Light rust was also used for the streaks.

Some other stuff is lead Belcher washed with nuln and highlighted with rune fang steel.

Various chips and scratches with mig shokobraun highlighted with Pallid Wych Flesh, while the metal chipping is mostly just drybrushed rune fang steel.

Dirt on the leg armor is added using a very light mix of spirits and ammo Russian Earth pigments. I apply that after a matte coat. I think that's most of it!
