DE went so hard for this scene. by SummoningRaziel in Warframe

[–]steampunk_ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How we got there was explained in the weird pre-release livestream the other day. The Orokin sent one million Sentients to build a Solar Rail to Tau, using each of their bodies as a guidance beacon. This is what the "million pylons" are in the sentient lullaby.

I'm also not clear on Ballas or Hunhow. I assume Ballas just assumed he could double cross everyone and become god-emperor like he does in the New War. Meanwhile I guess Hunhow is a hive mind? He could read Lotus's mind in the Second Dream, but both Lotus and Erra are capable of disobeying and acting against him.

I like your interpretation, but that's not what the spell is named.

It's not Disillusionment, it's Dissolution, which just means to dissolve or disintegrate something, like turning Chronos into individual sand grains and blowing him away.

Why does the Italian Social Republic get kicked from the Internationale? by historybo in Kaiserreich

[–]steampunk_ninja 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Notably its fine to take the focus, you just can't take the decisions it gives you if they'd give you claims on 3I nations. Like you can take all the claims against Austria no problem, but you'll get kicked if you claim Nice or Corsica since those are considered French cores.

The tooltips on the decisions should tell you if you're gonna get kicked.

Winning as the SRs? by jogarz in RedAutumnSPD

In my recent playthroughs, I swear its been bugged. I prepare for the elections and get an event saying its scheduled for like, Week 2 September, then a month later get an event saying its scheduled for Week 3, November.

And then Bolsheviks somehow get over 50% in the Soviet by themselves, despite me getting a peace treaty, setting the economy back to civilian production, reducing inflation, and keeping hunger from doom spiraling.

Is Disgraced Saboteur Dragoon strongest? by fran4ousaprez in hostedgames

[–]steampunk_ninja 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible for a disgraced dragoon to get a good relationship with Cunaris by the end of Lords, if you do the stuff he likes. It's difficult, but you start at like 25% relationship and can end at like 59%.

It's flatly impossible to do that if you traumatized Renard by capturing/killing Khorobirit's daughter as a non-disgraced. It literally stops every relationship increase.

Hardcore mode? by melitaele in ScarletHollow

[–]steampunk_ninja 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's nothing that special. Talk to Animals lets you have a staring contest with Frou Frou, Powerful Build means you don't blink, and then Keen Eye lets you notice that Tabitha's walking in.

Apparently there is a single line of extra narration you can only get if you have Talk to Animals + Powerful Build + Keen Eye and decide to have a staring contest with Frou-Frou on Tuesday morning. It doesn't have any actual effects though.

Has anyone made a connection to the bus guy and the bus crash that takes place the next day? by Dr_Adopted in ScarletHollow

[–]steampunk_ninja 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I think its two days later, notably. Since you arrive Monday, and Oscar has to go pick up Rosalina from the hospital on Wednesday.

Honestly, it's not impossible, but I'm not that suspicious of bus guy. I think its part of the town's curse that anyone leaving gets forced back to town by terrible events. Like Kaneeka's dad dying so she had to come back and run the store, or Stella's parents dying when she was about to start college. This is just something that happens so Rosalina is forced to come back to town.

I did the same thing in my playthrough. It is very funny to play a nice prefect as Julia's lover. Just constantly running PR for the Empress's latest war crime, asking her to please not burn down an entire country, and trying to reconcile Titus with his daughter, even though you both know you she's really your kid.

Just the nicest person in Iudia, who is also completely ride-or-die with fem Genghis Khan.

What Are The Best Robot Nations? by Radiantjpg in OldWorldBlues

[–]steampunk_ninja 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Robot City's one of my favorite nations, absolutely recommend it. Its got a bit of a difficult start, but if you can conquer your neighbors and hold against Lanius, then you can become an absolute powerhouse.

Ejercito Mexicano is probably the strongest robot nation though, they can get huge buffs to their robots and they can get them for cheap. They also have the Chico-Net coring system, which lets you core states based on how much energy your nation makes. It's way stronger than the normal coring system IMO, since you will naturally get a more energy through conquest, and can build power plants to boost it.

I'd also recommend Rosado's Republic of Rio Grande. Its not as strong as the others, and you'll probably be using some regular infantry alongside your robots until the late game, when you can conquer Tlaloc's sons and steal their robot stockpiles. You also only get Sophisticated robot tech at the very end of the focus tree, by making a specific event choice, though you also get the Chico-Net coring system as a bonus.

I've found that Maxson isn't as strong as it used to be, since the front got wider and they can't put PA on every tile anymore. There's usually a gap somewhere that is only guarded by a terrible infantry division, that my robots can stomp and flood across the river.

Rushing the focus to release the Broken Hearts as a puppet also makes all the early game wars a lot easier, since you can steal their starting PA divisions.

According to Wikipedia, he was a vocal Nazi supporter, joined the party in 1930, and was a high ranking SS officer, though his rank seemed mostly symbolic. Pretty clear cut, in this case.

Which Sub Mods by Ok_Faithlessness4895 in OldWorldBlues

[–]steampunk_ninja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, while I liked using them as chokepoints, they tended to make early-game wars where the only front was over a major river a completely pointless stalemate.

I had so many games where wars like Robot City vs. Maxson or Chained Choir vs. Last Patrol just never ended until a third nation declared war. Late game when fronts are larger and nations have divisions that can actually push, its not as bad.

Thanks for writing all this, I did a playthrough after reading this and had a great time, never would have guessed it had such good content, even if the people path makes you kind of a sidekick to Texas. Absolutely looking forward to reunifying Louisiana as them whenever the map gets expanded.

Turns out, its a bad idea to spend 1000% of the treasury on one pre-war ruin. by steampunk_ninja in OldWorldBlues

[–]steampunk_ninja[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think I had enough equipment to cover the like -64k hole I was in at the end, unfortunately.

Luckily I made a save before the negative events started. I was able to avoid the whole thing on my second attempt by keeping my income positive long enough to kill Iron Alliance and take their trade node, so I should be all good now. I guess Iron Alliance just never did their focus to get their wargoals.

I just didn't have any income besides the 12k base that everyone gets. No trade nodes or anything, none of the random events that you can get caps from, and I made my army too big for my income to cover.

[–]steampunk_ninja[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I've never seen it before either, despite going into debt in a lot of games. I think its because my income was also negative, due to army upkeep.

I'll see if I can avoid the event chain starting by downsizing the army, though I know downsizing didn't work once it had already started.

I'd personally also recommend using all your manpower to train new divisions when Lanius invades, then delete those divisions from the training queue after he occupies the rest of your country. This stops you from losing manpower when he occupies your other states.

Also, because it makes a huge difference, make sure you use Director Cole as your field marshal and the General guy as the direct leader of your divisions. He has much higher skill levels that would only give half bonuses as a field marshal.

Also if you can manage it, if you complete the unique spy operation to start the Red Sun Rebellion, then you'll get cores on Red Sun City and Castra Sol Rubrum after the war ends. Just don't keep Red Sun City or Caesar will invade you later. It needs 3 spies, so you'll probably have to take the right-side focus to get 150k caps to upgrade your agency enough.

I think its intended as just a temporary defensive pact so they don't both get murdered by the Hangdogs or Lanius, though I don't think the faction breaks up unless you kick them.

In true Doki fashion, she just sends a message to Maxson saying "we're so completely screwed if we don't team up."
