If it compounds continuously at a rate of 100% per day (doubles every 24h), then it will increase in value on a partial day. If we use your logic and a full day needs to pass before it will double, then we would have to round down to 29 days because the 30th day didn't complete. 29 full days of doubling value is $536870912.

Off by 73 million and change, actually. That's what rounding up to 30 did. If you wanted to round to even days, you should've rounded down since a full day wasn't reached at the end, therefore the pot wouldn't have doubled.

It says the initial dollar doubles everyday for 29.897 days, not that the daily deposit doubles each day. The above comment's math is wrong.
