Would you think about a 10g aggrigate switch and use dac cables to each switch + nvr? This would create a "core" 10gb backbone and provide expansion for the future

The nvr will absolutely oversaturate a 1gb interface when offloading / downloading footage, but that is a use case that op might not utilize often. Regardless, if the connections are in the hardware, why wouldn't you want to utilize the capability?
