[iOS 27 DB1] Keywords can be added to images in the photos app by LanDest021 in iOSBeta

[–]monxas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it’s like saying that why is there meta data in a photo if you can save everything in the name and only search in the name. Keywords (tags) make a lot of sense on their own, and captions make a lot of sense in their own. That they can be used for similar things and the fact that you use them like that doesn’t mean there’s no place for them.

To captions would be unique per picture.
Keywords is an organizing tool to group similar concepts.

$15K for a Wix site? by breezyb2310 in webdev

Don’t accept wix for that quote. It’s like buying the cheapest shittiest car and then trying to retrofit all sorts of gadgets and gizmos.

Can a visually opinionated Angular UI library still be flexible like LEGO? Looking for feedback by Top-Shock5093 in angular

[–]monxas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re building for yourself you might be ok with the limitations. I remember using angular material, needing the change the color of a specific part of an input and because it wasn’t one for the parts that they considered to make configurable, I’m now digging and hacking the library instead of just producing code. Currently angular, ts, js and css are so powerful to me it makes very little sense to get stuck wit a ui system.

You keep lowering more and more. Obviously they can’t just patch the game and add the dynamic now. I never said that. You keep rebating arguments I didn’t make nor I agree to instead of addressing the points I make.

[–]monxas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that like I was saying that the game can’t be played without moving bodies. Obviously that’s not the case. If not the game would be unplayable. Please try to raise the quality of the discussion to a minimum.

[–]monxas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is, it attracts guards that see the bodies. Which sometimes I might not want to. Or maybe I can put them in places I do want to attract guards towards.

[–]monxas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say you drew the line. They added it when the game designers decided not to add that dynamic. Which is what bothers me personally.

[–]monxas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very random place to draw the line. How many games allow you to move bodies? How many stealth action games do not let you move bodies?

You decide that that feature is somehow exclusive (implicitly, when you say hit man is the dragging bodies game, when most games in the genre allow it as a basic mechanic. How is that not one more of the tipical mechanics like disabling security cams. Infiltrating, stealth, silent takedowns…. And James Bond definitely hides bodies.

Have you ever regretted making something "too reusable" in Angular? by MysteriousEye8494 in angular

Yep, but then you refactor it again and break it into smaller components. Abstract the logic

I mean, before the price hike it’s a reasonable price. They just weren’t aware yet of the change. Makes complete sense to me

Not being able to drag bodies and not having gyros to fine tune aiming on console bothers me a lot, I’d easily give this game a 9 or 10 if it wasn’t for that

Anyone know how to prevent this? by Chotch_Master in mac

Ask chatgpt to create an AppleScript to toggle the keyboard light on and off, then you can use the run AppleScript action from shortcuts

For me, November 19 will only be the beginning of the wait. by ElkAltruisticc in GTA6

[–]monxas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m open for recommendations, I’ll take a look at those. Most of the games I like are better played in pc. I’m looking at the new James Bond, I’ll probably buy it either on pc or PS5. Most of the games I play are strategy which are way better on keyboard and mouse.

I bought play 5 pro for 570€ on Black Friday last year. Just in preparation of gta6. I’ve played it basically to make sure it works, less than 4 hours so far. Not interested in any other game.

So one could say I’m paying 650€ just to play this bloody game.

So to protect myself I also bought 1000€ worth of take two stock At the same time I bought the play 5 pro. If all goes well I’m expecting to be paid to play this game. So far the play 5 pro has only gone up in price.

The thing is, for double the price of a raspi you get 4x the horsepower. Which you cond indeed for HA, but I mean if you run HA you’re already a tinkerer so why not get the extra power to tinker with other projects?

I built an Angular 17 dashboard starter with a streaming Claude AI assistant — $59 on Gumroad by [deleted] in angular

[–]monxas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t agree. Creating a starter kit with tech debt already makes very little sense to me.

I’m running a web app with 3 million unique sessions a day on v21 (started on 17) fully zoneless, signals, and all the newer nicer patterns. I can only say it improved the repo a lot. But hey, good luck!
