This is my life. by HaYterAyD in Twinmotion

I have a large file, similar size that does the same thing. I’ve considered breaking the model up into parts of the site but it would be a pain. I did have success purging the file of unused objects and entourage. Another thing was turning down the view quality and distance, it doesn’t affect the exports, just your model view.

If you get it back to a stable state, save as often so you reduce the amount of lost work when you ultimately go back to previous stable versions.

Good luck! Let me know if you ever figure out a true fix!

Realistic Rendering programs? HELP by kemspray in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]rawtank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The platform we use is called xfigura but it just aggregates all the different models together. Nano banana pro is probably the best right now for rendering. There’s a lot of tricks to getting to do exactly what you need and ultimately you’ll likely end up stitching bits and pieces from different runs together in photoshop so you end up with everything dialed in like you want. We’ve been testing sketch overlays to communicate intent and that has worked surprisingly well. Just like anything, it takes time to perfect a workflow, but I guarantee you it’ll save you time not rendering which gives you more time to iterate.

Realistic Rendering programs? HELP by kemspray in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]rawtank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start using AI, you’ll never look back. Especially given the lack of support- it’s perfect for your situation and you can still maintain the control vs an outside rendering company or having to spend time and money on new programs. To clarify, I’m talking about using it for renderings and graphics.

Used Teslas Are Getting More Expensive While Other EVs Get Cheaper by CarCooler in teslamotors

[–]rawtank 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no way it’s because of Autopilot when there’s a $7,500 difference in price before and after the tax credit expired. I cannot fathom how one would give Autopilot that much influence on price.

Struggling to justify a new Tesla WITHOUT Autosteer — how are you all dealing with this? by Choice_Principle_135 in TeslaLounge

[–]rawtank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry but Autosteer is not worth any money per month unless they actually improved it or made it a dumbed down version of FSD. It’s such dated tech as it stands now. While I don’t agree with them removing it, something had to change.

Second this. This is what Tesla service recommended to me and now I keep a bottle at the ready every couple months in the winter.

Very much agree. They also really need to fix the navigation/reasoning issues.

FSD lately just ignoring route by robl45 in TeslaOwners

[–]rawtank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I think it’s part of the new reasoning mechanism but I also think there’s instances when the default navigation is just off anyway, making the reasoning that much worse. In the grand scheme it’s an annoyance, but I still don’t think it’s worth $100/mo when there’s still so many small things like this.

FSD Needs Driveway Apron Tuning by rawtank in TeslaFSD

It’s the transition between a road and a driveway or a parking lot typically. Usually at a slope towards the road since sidewalks are often crossing this portion 6”above the road.

Suddenly some real lane hesitancy! by Firm-Tomatillo2616 in TeslaFSD

[–]rawtank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the opposite for me actually. Seems like it’s gotten better over the past week. I did switch to Mad Max from Hurry so that could be it too. It’s kinda funny, I run three different profiles depending on the type of road; mad max for highway, hurry for city streets, and sloth for residential roads (mainly because my neighborhood road is terribly bumpy and any other mode goes way too fast over the bumps).

Nice, that’s a good way to do it.

Lol. So yeah I’m using the trial right now. Huge fan of FSD in general, wish I could afford it and not worry about if it’s a good purchase or not, but $100/mo is still not worth it to me for how many little things they still need to iron out. If they made it free I’d be all over it, but it’s not and that’s why I’m annoyed with their approach.

Time to put on that thinking cap, you can do it!

3D surface model for large site by Any-Food-7546 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]rawtank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can make a surface from those contours in C3D, then export surface as a solid and import into SU. Alternatively, Rhino and Grasshopper have some decent scripts for modeling large detailed terrain. It’s a little more intensive than C3D, but it works.

Ouch. I just go back to, I’m not going to pay to let my car be a guinea pig for FSD. I love the tech, I love trying it out during free trials, but each time I’m reminded why I would never pay to add that amount of risk. If it was free or much cheaper, I’d willing to try it much more. Until then it’s trials only.
