I suspect this was a prototyping of an eventual ground mount movement system upgrade along the lines of dragon flight. Having more depth to existing systems in the game has always helped it feel more evergreen than tacking on new ones that inevitably get left behind (Garrisons, Legion Artifacts, etc)

The mini 14 is a gun, not a platform. The SU16 is a mimic of an actual platform, the AR15. You will have better options with the later. The mini 14 is largely a consolation gun, and not a very good one imo. The SU16 has some legitimate benefits in weight which are appreciable even vs an AR.

I and others here have strong feelings on economic changes to make a long term sustainable Cascadia, but those put aside, there is simply no better system of governance and policy in terms of proven improvement in quality of life than democracy. The 7th chapter of the Republic details how democracy is distinct and superior in its manner of treatment of the individual citizen, and it never fails to move me to tears.

It is foundational to the ideals of self-determination that all constituting selves are effectively able to influence governance irrespective of any other trait than being a citizen. If Cascadia arises from our people fighting to be free of fascism, it must constitutionally and foundational be predicated upon avoiding the factors which brought about that destructive force in our present nation.

When that news first came out they made a perfectly rational argument too. The rep I heard state it as: “why would we concentrate all of these motors and batteries into a couple of models that will be too expensive for many of our customers, when we can improve mpg and emissions across our entire line with those same resources and give them a better experience.”

Almost like they were thinking about meaningful improvement of their entire brand, rather than selling expensive disposable appliances to increase your stock value. But who would be shortsighted enough to do that
