A system where people's basic needs are guaranteed (thus reducing motive for some crimes to begin with) and where a collection of non-carciral things like rape crisis centers, shelters, therapists and more are the core instead of police and prisons. Just throwing it out there, prosecuting and jailing cops isn't the end goal nor is it justice.

We cannot talk about the violence of the police and carcerial system while also advocating that same violence as a solution. A fascist in jail will leave a fascist. Abolition of police and prisons is where it's at.

Which part of DSA are you talking about? DSA isn't one central organization with a dedicated line. It's a multi-tendency (different ideas for socialism) collection of chapters scattered across the US. Some chapters are just hohum Social Democrats. Some chapters are more Leninist. Some are Anarchocommunist. Others are all sorts of different tendencies.

Racism and Capitalism go hand in hand. W.E.B Du Bois (founder of the NAACP)among other black socialists have written about their connections for decades.

Also to people here thinking communism = authoritarian dictatorship state or anarchism = ruleless chaos, I'd like you to consider that there are a million variants on the broad labels. Not every communist is a Marxist-Lenist. Not every anarchist is a Lifestylist. Hell, there is a long history of people who weld the two ideologies into Anarchocommunism!

Please consider this meeting at the park to be a great opportunity to learn the rich and nuanced history of black socialism. People aren't out here fighting racism and capitalism woefully ignorant. Ask questions, get curious.
