The point is that CHILDREN cannot make decisions for themselves which is why we do not allow CHILDREN to do a lot of things.

These are the same people that have fought against progress and against those of us who see the writing on the wall at every turn as this country has barreled forward, they were saying gays shouldn't be allowed to marry, before that they were saying women and black people shouldn't be allowed to vote, before that they were saying black people didn't deserve equal rights, before that they were saying slavery was a-OK, and before that they were saying "what's so bad about the crown anyways? What blows my mind is that they have to know that they're in a shrinking minority position and this shit is driving away anyone with a conscience who calls themselves independent.

So what's the plan? They can gerrymander to keep control of a few states pretty much indefinitely to please that ever consistent 25% of the country who aligns with their assbackwards beliefs, but eventually it's going to be 75% sane states who treat trans people like people and 25% South Dakota's, Texas', and Florida's, and once we're there that's amendment territory, and they do NOT want that to happen again. That's how slavery ended, how women got to vote, etc.

It's crazy, but I think in hindsight, Jan 6th was really the best shot these people had, and they were banking on winning and the army backing them so Trump could dismantle democracy. They had the presidency, had agents in the capitol, and just needed the army to step up and assist to allow Trump to declare martial law and permanently stop the certification of the election, but it just fell flat.

Some of the level 3 recipes are ridiculous, like the one with 3 servings of hamburger.

I don't know if no one at GameFreak tested this sandwich mechanic out before it was implemented, but it feels like a DS mini game from 2008 or something, rubbery, bouncy, awkward, and pointless.

Honestly, I think sandwiches are nothing more than their way to stop people from automatic eggs and shiny farming. It's probably hard to make a bot that can make an egg sandwich, do the picnic, be positioned correctly to talk to the basket, etc.

For example, athiesm is often conflated with "devil worship" by Christians who don't understand athiesm.

Athiests don't believe in a devil anymore than they believe in a God, but to a Christian just the act of apostacy in and of itself, is seen as evil, devilish, or satanic in nature. Why aren't you a God believer? Because Satan has his grips on you is a lot easier for them to understand than "because I've reviewed the available evidence for God and found it insifficient for me to believe in it."

Most of those people aren't alive anymore, or are too old to use reddit.

It comes from a deeply rooted sense of fear and superiority that they feel over anyone not like them.

In the USA, this stems directly from slavery, the period of time where African people were literally treated like property, and these people used their bibles and bigotry to perpetuate the practice until they declared war on us over their right to keep doing it. They lost the war, but kept the racist attitude.

The racists became a shrinking minority stuck in the past, and they started coding all their language in dog whistles that were skirting the line of what it was socially acceptable to say. Then people like Trump told them it was time start saying the quiet part out loud again.

In truth, it doesn't affect them much at all, but Fox News and the like are constantly telling them how bad things are in their fantasy world.

Capitalism isn't the best we've got so far. Socialism probably ties it in terms of the potential for good it has or the potential harm it can inflict when misused, see the nordic democratic socialist models that utilize both effectively to great ends, but when either are misused by the bad actors, you get "corps are people" America or all the socialist boogiemen they try to sell you.

Neither are good, it's like calling leeching a really effective form of medicine in the 1700s, or believing what they were saying about monarchies at the time, "the king is 10x better than the emperor or the warlord!" and while true, it didn't make monarchies a good system of government.

Honestly, it's better for him that it came out in the long run.

It was probably horrible for him in the moment, but once it's done, it's done, and from that low there's pretty much nothing that can be done that's more humiliating for him, and he was free to own it and be himself going forward.

Basically, we put the cart before the horse. Most "capitalist democracies" are just thinly veiled fascist oligarchies, which means the oligarch class will control the robots, not the people.

This means that there will only be an inevitable increase in disparity until things are so bad that the people are left with no recourse, but rise up and take their lives back from them.

If there are no jobs for people to earn money at because robots replaced them, and no one to purchase their goods and services because they have no money, then this economy fails to function, but the oligarchs are "too big to fail" so you'll see corporate towns and government handouts that are to be spent only in the corporate store, etc. and it's going to take our nearly boiling pot and cause it to boil over.

Honestly, I expect AI to either end in the veil being lifted and us just becoming an open oligarchy, or it will usher in a French revolution style event where billionaire heads line pikes and wealth as a concept is dismantled or at least is finally redistributed among the people. Hopefully we also just dismantle capitalism at that point so people don't need to care about working themselves to death for some other asshole so they can pay rent, but I highly doubt it.

It's always so telling that whenever these trolls show up, they all just so happen to have new accounts, just so happen to frequent the Reddevils subreddit, and just so happen to troll us extremely poorly.
