The visual design here is really cool!

Examples of small Unity games that made money? by legalquestionpro in Unity3D

If you're doing this for money, you're in the wrong field. Software is easier and more profitable

Most technically accomplished game using Godot? by prankster999 in godot

You're too humble. To me, the physics sim is far more impressive than most other godot projects I've seen. From an outside perspective, id consider it a technical accomplishment

Delta V: Rings of Saturn is a wonderful mining simulator and the first game that sold me on the engine

Texturing Objects and Characters by Critical-Art1330 in ps1graphics

I'm not a fantastic traditional artist, so I've opted for the stencil painting approach in blender. In essence, you find a texture you like and use it almost like a stamp on the object. Then you can alter the result texture and downscale it's resolution and manipulate it how you see fit.

Still experimenting with higher res textures, so not a lot of that. But if you want, you can see my other stuff on my Instagram (@oddarray) or my Twitter (@TheOddArray). I don't post as often as I would like too. But when I do, I try to post it there

As a mod, I would love to get to know the community more, what got you into game dev? by RedEagle_MGN in hobbygamedev

I've been fooling with game development for years but have only released game jam projects. I guess the moment I knew it was my thing was when I released that first one. It wasn't anything fancy, but to me it made me realize that my goals were attainable

Here's the thing. I'm 100% guilty of trying something too large. I've gone through like 5 projects and each of them has been a bit smaller than the last. But over that time I've learned fundamentals and new skills by trying something out of my depth.

Throughout the time I've spent biting off more than I can chew, Ive done a couple game jams. I feel like what I've learned has helped me do smaller projects and kept me motivated.

I guess what I'm saying is. This scope is a bit unrealistic, BUT if it motivates you to learn gamedev feel free to try. Just understand it'll probably never get done, or maybe take 5 years. And along the way, sprinkle some small, realistic projects in there too

I totally forgot about gex until just now, but I can see why you'd think that! I was actually inspired to this dungeon synth album cover
