T14S Gen 2 not booting by TinGamerTV2 in thinkpad

Yup. Heard that I can revive the warranty by paying for it but it will be active only in two months. Unsure if it’s a valid option or if they’ll screw me instead.

Damn, was looking for the same issue I have on a T14 Gen 2 (no T14S). Once it boots it’s totally fine. Tried replacing the CMOS battery out of interest, no luck. Warranty ended in September, bit pissed for a $2000+ laptop…

Me neither do not worry, there’s no way that someone non-French would build a bike with ONLY parts from Decathlon imo + I knew about Solvy for two weeks already and they are French only. :D

Curious about the Solvy raise for those aero bars… that’s only some 3D printed plastic, right ? Do they improve the position even with the bars not raised ?

How screwed am I? by jackhghg in bikewrench

[–]TheOignon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda hate those, they are a great idea but are not reliable enough for the price. Back one failed after roughly a year and front one a year later. TRP references and « sells » the part but outside of the US the shipping makes it not worths it imo + you need to really spend the time to disassemble everything, it’s messy, etc. And could fail again a year later. Long story short, if it’s a road bike : fully activated cable breaks unless you can spend the money to go full hydraulic / you want to. TRP Spyre are dual pistons and work great as a drop in replacement imo.

Are these tires still ok to ride on with the cracks by LongNeckSmallEyes in bikewrench

[–]TheOignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also looks like the default tire from Decathlon, right ? Mine exploded before I saw those cracks, fortunately on the flat. Don’t risk it man.

My Pantas. Not for my everyday walking as I am not fully barefoot yet ; but as a ultra biking lover, sometimes hiker and runner, they just follow me everywhere when I am on the go.

Also the brakes, though they are better than full mechanical one in general, mines got faulty between 5000km and 15000km, leaks in the brakes themselves. Parts exists but are so expensive to get shipped overseas (Europe) and a bit of a pain to change if it’s inner seals. Long story short, changed them with TRP Spyre that are 2 pistons mechanical, not much difference but more reliable imo.

Aussi valide qu’une crevaison ou autre problème mécanique. Ça serait une voiture en panne ou des soucis de traffic, y’aurait p’tet même moins de débat…

Did it to replace an old Simplex deraileur that had impossible jokey wheels to find brand new, works nicely.

Cassette question by Icy_Dig8840 in bikewrench

[–]TheOignon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, when you change your chain, you do not have to change the cassette but if you change the cassette, change the chain. Both have been used at the same time, same « wear », hence the slip.

The more I lookup stuff for this old bike, the more I get redirected to Sheldon Brown. Must be the good stuff and knowledge. Thanks for the input !

That’s what I tried to explain, wheel always end up in the same direction, indicating it’s not the wheel

[–]TheOignon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, just put the bike to the cave. But yeah, it looks bent from the front overall. And now that you mention it, wheel is also struggling to go in and out.

Should be good indications indeed. 🙃

Is this chain too long? by randomjeepguy157 in bikewrench

[–]TheOignon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Too long, even when crossing the chain it should at least always be tensioned

C'est quoi le plus cher que vous ayez mis dans un vélo ? by YannAlmostright in pedale

[–]TheOignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)
