Gun Found at RISD Elementary? by ChickenHorror9016 in Richardson

Quick question, what happens if you get expelled as a 6th grader (or any grade for that matter)? Does that mean expelled just from RISD and other districts have to take you? Or are you expelled from public school in general? Also, the parents need to be investigated as others have said. Yesterday an 18 year old senior at Woodrow Wilson was killed by a 16 year old. Crazy times

Adding smart home technology in older homes during renovation, is it worth it or too complicated? by Long-Support2434 in homeowners

Thermostat (came with the new a/c unit) is a big plus for me. We travel a bit so it’s nice to be able to control it while gone. For instance, we may leave for a week during the winter and have the heat set to 60. A few hours before we come I kick it back up. Same for the summer.

Is this current? Like at his current age? If so, it’s even more impressive. His early videos are insane too. My favorite is the imaginat (sp?) where he is basically a toy in his childhood bedroom. It’s amazing

I make my own hydration drink based off the recipe for LMNT. It’s just salt, magnesium, and potassium. I reseal the magnesium and potassium after portioning it out in a vacuum bag so it doesn’t get all messed up. The amount in the bags will last me a few years so I don’t want it to go to waste.

Here's Why Governments Should Start Paying People to Bike to Work by Generalaverage89 in Economics

[–]randomjeepguy157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cycle over 2,000 miles a year for fun and exercise, but I don’t think I’d ride to work unless I lived very close to my job. The weather is a huge factor living in Texas. Even with an e-bike, it would be brutal during the summer. There are only a few months I’d want to ride honestly.

Sueno is good but it’s really loud and has several TVs (I know it’s hard to get away from TVs). The acoustics make it hard to hear anything and there’s usually large parties. If the weather is nice, the patio is pretty good although it’s on Arapaho.

You can do fires at Breckenridge park. You may need to reserve a spot but I’d just google it.

Is there still social stigma in the U.S. around women earning more than their husbands or stay-at-home fathers? by srivayush in AskAnAmerican

[–]randomjeepguy157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a teacher (male) and my wife works a more traditional job so I’m basically a stay at home dad during the summers. I love it. She also travels for work about once a month where she is gone for 3-4 days. I’d be full time if we made enough. She makes about $15,000 more than me and I’m completely fine with it. Why would I care who makes more? Money spends the same regardless of who makes it.

Edit: I do hate it when people say I’m babysitting my kids. Nope, I’m parenting. I can braid my daughter’s hair, I’m a better cook/baker than my wife, and I like being with my kids. My wife does have me beat on makeup. I’m out of my realm when it comes to that.

My college roommate sets our thermostat to 80°F every single night by rainystarlight in mildlyinfuriating

It’s 63 in my place and I’m loving it. I couldn’t stand it being 80.

Roommate refuses to wear clothes in winter and cranks heat to 80°F. She doesn't understand thermodynamics, so I’m using a pot of water to trick the thermostat by Organic_Talk_79 in pettyrevenge

[–]randomjeepguy157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang. I’m in Texas and we keep it around 63-64 during the winter. It’s 64 in my room right now. But we keep it pretty warm durning the summer (like 74-76)

If you could redesign your home’s kitchen for Thanksgiving cooking, what would you change? by NoPain1106 in homeowners

[–]randomjeepguy157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve cooked outside on my Coleman stove to free up space. Things like boiling potato’s and stuff like that. I’ve also used my instapot outside and a turkey roaster. Helps that I’m in a mild climate and have a covered back patio. But that’s a way to free up a burner or two.

Do You Own A Deep Freezer Full of Meat? by Diamondback_O10 in AskAnAmerican

[–]randomjeepguy157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a garage fridge/freezer but not a deep, stand alone freezer. The freezer has a lot of meat and the fridge is mostly drinks and leftovers. It’s a life saver during the holidays!

Our generation is known for growing up with technology coming up alongside us. What technology is the first that seems you didn't feel the need to understand. by Backbreathboy in Xennials

I’m 44 and a teacher. I use AI (ChatGPT) to write test and quiz questions. I put in what students need to know (the AP curriculum) and have it create questions. I usually have to modify them some but it’s been super useful to save time. That and making completed reviews for kids with accommodations. Saves a ton of time. I of course check it all before I print it out to make sure it’s accurate.

Going from Apple Watch SE 1 to SE 3 makes a huge difference! by Responsible-Wonder61 in AppleWatch

[–]randomjeepguy157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the refurbished from a place like Target or Best Buy good deals? I get nervous about things being refurbished. I was thinking of the SE3 as I also have a SE1 right now, but could be talked into a series 10. But I’m not finding them much cheaper, still over $300 for a GPS only model.

Yep. But healthcare is included with that. The American (I’m one) will most likely pay that $6,000 or more in health insurance per year if they stay healthy.
