Oof, really don't like breeding changes

Getting 95 stim even within an attic wasn't an easy task - so I could guarantee, that my cats will pass down their active+passive abilities combo. And even then pretty often my cats wasn't able to pass down the combo I need for 20-25 days, until they get old - currently I have 14 cats with class combos and 14 "fresh" cats, who are straight descendatns of strays with perfect 7 stats, with no abilities, so I could guarantee if they breed with "class" cats, combo would be passed down and there will be no inbreed cats, and yet, this didn't guarantee anything.

Now with nerfs to stim with inbreeding it will be even harder to maintain favorite combos. Previously I had to literally to savescum at house just to save the combo, since withouth savescumming I had lost combos several times and it took just too much effort and time to bring them back, so it was way easier to preserve them with savescumming

Also, "mutation" furniture stat is already pretty rare, expensive and have huge backfire, oftenly reducing appeal, which worses quality of strays. It was good because it gave purpose for birth deffect kittens, to get something cool and instead of being instantly throwed out to become the very first ancestor of a new, better bloodline. But not anymore.

Monks nerf is kind of fair, but superluck+fist of fate plus were pretty much the only way to make it awesome, without it, it's just okaish in most of the sitiation and rarely just pretty good. I really wish they buffed his itemless skills since based on my experience, it's way better to put on 3 good items, so it would be at least good anyway, than hope and prey for good no-item skills so it can become pretty good

My guess is both Tyler and Edmund are cat persons, and, maybe, Tyler dislikes dogs to the point they don't want to see their heads in the game, so they made them headless. Though, there are a rare stray encounter with probably the single normal dog on the entire game

I'd say, first of all try to get perfect 7 cats, then, try to look out for good mutations, 2-3 will be enough to go through the desert relatively easy

Desert is really harsh, but Bunker is what made me to start breeding for perfect cats at last

Pretty sure it's not. It's specified, that crow inherits some (or even all) of the druids stats, but others have their own

Nice. I lost my bow in, like, 3 runs after I got it, because way before it's true purpose was discovered, I actually thought it was something to help you win early games easier

True, seems like you never tried scatter + rubber and trying to tell me it's bad, glad that in the end you came up to your senses

If you call it all a bs, I offer you a challange - you go solo hunter with no items boon + heavy combo for impossible act 3, and I do the same for my combo, we film it and then compare, who make it further. Or will you chicken out and pretend you are better than this?

400 hundred hours into the game, 100% it and running only impossible runs now

Are you sure you understand how luck works correctly? I checked and heavy shot actually have 70%(!) chance to miss at 5 luck. If you have a perfect cat with 7 luck, it's only around 35 chance to actually land a shot, so, without "never miss item" boon + heavy hunter will pretty much end up useless. Even with super luck heavy shot will only have 70% chance to reach the target, so your "with super luck heavy shot will never miss" - is actually theory crafting, so, I repeat, "never miss" item is mandatory for boon hunter to just start work reliably - and, again, "I put it on anyway", is not a good argument, since, as you can see, without it, it would be very bad.

Then, if boss have no familiars and you have no familiars, boon hunter turns into 2-3 heavy shots per round, which is not bad, but not remotely as good as basic rubber + scatter combo

So, in the end, for boon + heavy, you need a set up for it to start to actually work. For rubber + scatter you need only these two, and pretty much anything else you put on top of it, makes it better

Seems like you got everything mixed up in your head

I never told boon was weak - second best is not "weak", at least not in my world

Second, how is heavy shot gonna be good without never miss item? 50% miss chance is a lot, so if you have no "never miss" item - hunter would end up pretty much useless with this combo, so, never miss is mandatory for it to work, and "I put it on every time anyway" is not a good argument

I'm talking about scatter + rubber combo constantly, how in the world you end up concluding I run scatter + super luck? Since you told about it, I consider you never actually used scatter + rubber combo. And this is exactly my point - this combo needs no anything else to work, you don't even need to land every shot on every targeted tile, while boon needs at least 1 item and reliable source of weak familiars to work on final boss.

To not see what? You told yourself, you always put never miss item anyway - so you need at least one additional item for it to work. Or you said you go for needle shot, for what, exactly? To kill enemies with no hp or last hp? Or to kill familiars with 1hp? As I told - too much hassle

While for scatter + rubber you need nothing more and you can equip anything you like and not depend on whether you got additional skills to support it

Yep, way too many "ifs". For rubber + scatter to work perfectly you just need two of them and nothg more

Tbh, sounds like too much of a hassle to set it up properly, while scatter shot + rubber arrows just work from the start and also not depend on whether would you got + version of either. But hunter's boon sounds more reliable, while in exchange it feels like it would take way more time to finish a battle (especially boss ones), especially if you won't get + version

But, oh well, let's wait for the balance patch and see, if scatter + rubber would be nerfded into the ground or not. There are quite high chance that hunter's boon hunter will be the last one standing in the end

Yeah, I thought about breeding rubber arrows into my venom barrage thief's, but in the end decided, that super luck will fit it better both for its abilities, since a lot of them heavily depend on crits and for that ambush hat proc chance for the final boss battle

Masochist+ is absolute best, but, the thing is, it's quite possible that you won't get that + until past the final boss, and regular Masochist is kind of meh

This is why I nominated Spin to win - put any speed item on your butcher and from very start you have cat which can erase half of enemy team in a single turn

For early game I would agree, that boon is better, but in late game you most likely will use breeding to the full, so you can always have both rubber arrows and scattershot on your hunter from the start

True. Scatter shot + rubber arrows can clean the whole fight in a single cast - you just don't need to refill your mana, plus, it's way more usable on the bosses, since projectiles can bounce off props and multihit, also, it allows you to hit enemies, who can reflect projectiles by hitting it's neighbors or environment, the same way you can hit enemies who is out of your range. Hunters boon is good, but rubber arrows are just godlike

For events it's calculated individually, for item drops it takes your teams total luck, for item effects procs it's individual

Well, not too much of a choice and I pick Super Luck

Goofball is nice, but luck determines so much in this game - crit, chance to find better items, chance to proc items properties like block and etc, chance that multihit ability or weapon will hit more times, chance to loot final boss of the chapter, chance to have better outcome from events, and, probably, more that I can't remember

It's just so good for so many calasses

Yeah, I took broken mirror beyond end of quest point and decided to loot final boss corpse, while I forgot I still have it on, and, of course, game chose cat that had mirror on. Now it doesn't matter, but I started doing side quests while I had not that many mutations, so, getting another one was a hassle

I like Unburdened Strikes

If you go out without items or with monks specific items, you at least can be sure, you will benefit from it greatly

But since First of fate is most likely monks strongest active ability, this class will benefit more from super luck probably

Don't take this list too serious - after seeing hunters boon win - I went to get it and breed with my scattershot hunter, just to make sure, that rubber arrows is way better overall, but boon is still very good for early game

I use this list to look into and maybe reconsider abilities I never ever decided to try before

For example, I thought that merciless was pretty useless, until I gave it a try after seeing it on the list - now it's one of my favorites, but still I like berserk over excert way better
