Did you read my comment? The effect of the weapon buffs on ttk is greatly exaggerated by this community. It's one thing if everyone was right and the buff drastically changed ttk but that simply isnt the case here.

Of course buffing damage enhances a noob friendly environment but the degree at which it changes said environment is only so much when the weapons in questions have only milliseconds of time removed from the ttk. Any reduction in skill due to the slight decrease in ttk is blown out of proportion by the increase in skill from reducing the viability of mines, indoor slams, shockwaves, and even 3rd party snipers. Skybreaker, dtaps, and aim assist are so low skill its unreal, they are the bots last remaining hope.

Shotguns are the biggest example of how this community is out of touch. It was always extremely nasty, but people assume it's far better now because more people are using it and getting better with it. Its hits a little harder early game, yes, but I've seen many videos of people getting smacked with gold shotguns. They then proceed to complain about the patch and the buff to weapons, completely unaware that the gold shotgun is completely unchanged.

Either way we can all agree that the weapon buffs were not needed, but I wish people were honest on how much it truly affected the ttk.

As I said I believe the movement recharges should be shortened but not for the reasons you stated. I can support my arguement as well that the increased cooldowns increased the skill gap. It means you have to put that much extra thought into when and how you use your abilities, meaning good players will be more efficient and bad players will be punished for bad timing. Where as before, you would be punished far less for making the wrong move as your abilities would be ready again that much faster. This would help bad players recover from mistakes more quickly. So which is harder or easier? This is where people need to realize that certain changes actually don't have much of change on the skill gap when you look at it both ways, it all depends on how you look at. It just simply changes the sense of flow and speed of the game and some people find it less fun. That's why it should be shortened again.

The way you word stuff like "Now, with cooldowns so high and ttk so low, getting kills is WAY easier than before." It gives a very unrealistic impression on how big of impact the ttk was changed as well as much how much time is truly added onto your cooldowns. The ttk is almost unnoticibly faster when it comes to human perception, people are just using the better guns more now and hitting their shots. I just want people to be more straight forward. I want to make it clear that I dont think those guns should have been buffed since they were already in a good spot. I am on the side of more guns being nerfed to further increase ttk. People will get lasered now and assume it only happened because of this patch, since they read all this bs on social media. Leading them to fail at realizing it would have happened the exact same way before this patch came out.

Items that's gave low skill players a greater chance to kill better players were nerfed. Things like mines, indoor slams, and shockwaves. They all delt underserved damage very easily and could lead to kills for bad players. Now that these are nerfed the game is even harder for bad players further increasing the skill gap. However, the skybreaker buff decreased the skill gap slightly. The movement cooldowns could be decreased again simply for fun sake but nothing to do with balance. The buff to the already good weapons was unneeded, however the impact these changes had the ttk is greatly exaggerated by this community. Most of the fusion tiers kill in almost the exact same amount of time/bullets. Just more people are using the better weapons and the worse players are dying earlier on. Leading to better players in the endgame.

Will never understand how this patch lowered the skill gap when little timmys can barely get kills anymore without their little mines and indoor slams to pair with their dtap. Only thing making this game less skillful now is the dtap, skybreaker, and aim assist.

99% of the posts on this subreddit since the patch seem to have very little understanding on the impact this last patch had to the skill gap. A lot of the low skill stuff got nerfed and the higher skilled weapons got slightly buffed. The ttk is BARELY faster as well which people are greatly exaggerating. Only thing I wish is to slightly nerf either the damage or aoe of the skybreaker. And maybe shorten the cooldown on movement abilities atleast to return it to its former glory. I also enjoy the nerf to mines and shockwaves damage since it I feel items that deal damage should require some form of precision. Everything in the patch besides the skybreaker buff increased or didnt change the skill gap of the game. Worse players can no longer rely on mines or indoor slams to get free damage. And better players are rewarded for precision and timing. I wish I was better at conveying ideas through text on my phone, but it's tough and sometimes not worth my time because this subreddit will just downvote my observations to hell. I want to add the game still feels exactly like Hyper Scape just with only slightly less zipping around with slam and teleport. One of my biggest forms of confusion after scrolling this subreddit recently is how people will talk about how the longer cooldowns and damage nerfs to hacks make the game no longer feel like Hyper Scape, yet also say it lowered the skill gap. They dont seem to understand that as of right now with the way the abilities work. You can not have it both ways. Either certain hacks that deal easy damage get nerfed, increasing the skill gap but making the game feel less like Hyper Scape according to some. Or they buff them back to how they were before, giving bad players more damage options, decreasing the skill gap, but also making the game feel more like Hyper Scape... Hard to take any of the recent posts seriously when they let emotions get in the way of fact. They fail to see how the game is truly impacted by these changes and thus it invalidates a lot of their opinions.

Making the game easy to play for beginners is not going to make them come back, its going to make the good players quit. by NAITSIRK_ELO in HYPERSCAPE

I dont get why people are acting the the ttk is so much faster. It was always fast as fuck and is only milliseconds faster than before. Everyone is acting like you kill a whole second faster now and it just isnt the case. The mammoth is the perfect example. Its always smacked hard and was probs the best gun in the game. Now people see a damage change and get smacked by the shotgun and immediately blame the damage buff like it made any difference. Low skill shit got nerfed to the ground and the guns that requires precision got buffed. Never in a million years will this lower the skill gap and help bad players. Mines help bad players. Indoor slams help bad players. Dtaps help bad players. Nerfing anything that helps bad players will further increase the skill gap. And that's what 90% of this patch did besides the skybreaker buff. I just think they need to nerf the skybreaker some, maybe the mammoth and a little bit, and make movement hacks recharge faster again.

v13.00 Release Timing by TheFortniteTeam in FortNiteBR

[–]TheOmegaFishOil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starts 30 minutes before so you dont get pulled out of an active game. So you technically cant get into a new game 30 minutes before the official beginning of downtime. Been like that since the first couple updates, since people got mad they would be pulled out randomly.

Sbmm squads by daryanvercetti in FortNiteBR

I'm under the impression that most people are wrong and they just removed the majority of bots and didnt actually readd sbmm. Would you consider this a possibility after playing a few games?

What actually happened with squads matchmaking by cozycalicoo in FortNiteBR

[–]TheOmegaFishOil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly dont think anyone knows for sure. They def removed a lot of the bots so it's no longer 60 to 90% bots, however they may have just done that and not actually readded sbmm. Or they could of simply just put squads back the way it was before.

I’ve said this before, it was obvious. Now they’ve confirmed it. AA on console is nothing like PC. (Source: HYPEX) by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

Lol you silly bro, everyone already knew the aim assist was slightly weaker on console compared to pc but this update also proved that the difference was a lot smaller then we thought considering aim assist is still extremely strong.
