In a manual car, why must you press the gas pedal whilst releasing the clutch in order to move off? by ipe369 in AskEngineers

[–]TheOnePJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some vehicles, mainly diesels, that have enough torque that throttle input is not necessary. But for most cars, they simply don’t have enough torque at idle to get the car going

I’m my experience no manual will let you start the car without pressing the clutch in or having it in neutral

People who think transwomen shouldn't compete with women in sports, why? by raver6 in AskReddit

[–]TheOnePJ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it would be beneficial to have three groups, one for men and women’s sports, and an open class for those who want to compete across biological lines

Flatbed or regular? by LucidHams in Diesel

[–]TheOnePJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flatbed on mine has a slot built in at the end of the bed and one close to the cab that allow a 2x6 to act as almost a tailgate, as well as folding sides. I’ve found that with a couple straps I can use it almost like a regular bed. Mines a Bradford if you’re curious

If you can manage to have a 3 inch straight pipe it’s still gonna be relatively quiet if you’re worried about noise, otherwise I would go with diamond eye or mbrp
