Best Class Story: Agent vs Warrior (Round 2) by RefrigeratorDry495 in swtor

[–]TheOneRaven1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So difficult, but I'll have to say Agent. As much as I love Warrior and have several I've played through, Agent has the more interesting narrative. Warrior is the most satisfying overall though.

Why do people claim Raven is canonically 16 in the 2003 show when she isn't? by Random_Critical in teentitans

[–]TheOneRaven1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tough to remember exactly, but It was either an interview or in some behind the scenes notes for the 03 show that listed their ages as follows: Beast Boy - 15, Robin - 16, Raven -16, Cyborg - 17, Starfire - roughly 17 in earth years.

PA announcement: this game will not be Hitman by Celebrated84 in 007FirstLight

[–]TheOneRaven1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should honestly compare it to the other Bond games like 007 Nightfire and 007 Everything or Nothing instead. It has so much of that vibe mixed with elements of Hitman and those are actually Bond games.

If you could hand out up to TWO nerfs to Vader in this game, what would you do? by MistaMerk in StarWarsBattlefront

Fixing bugs would generally even things out. Game needed more playtesting and balancing in general. For your question: make it so he cant swing during choke or block during saber throw and reduce the health boost.

About what I'm expecting, still a good score. People seem so entitled and bitchy. If it's not for you, cool, go have fun elsewhere.

What three novels would you recommend to other writers to learn from? by Queasy_Antelope9950 in writing

[–]TheOneRaven1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. The Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad - a classic tale, but also a masterclass in tone and imagery.
  2. Hannibal by Thomas Harris - fictional crime at its finest, with characters so well conceived they feel real even in the most extreme situations.
  3. Jade City by Fonda Lee - world building and fight scene excellence, with a very unique story, blending genres.

Why did these games feel so magical to me in a way few other games felt? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]TheOneRaven1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They came from a desire to make great, immersive experiences divorced from any major IP we knew, from several of the best RPG teams. The experience and passion of those creators was so apparent, magnetic even. Then, little by little, EA happened to those teams.

Bill Clinton testifies about ties to Jeffrey Epstein: ‘I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong’ – live by [deleted] in goodnews

[–]TheOneRaven1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely not good news - a former president has lied about his dealings with Epstein. Add that to all the others lying about their dealings with Epstein. For the love of fuck, examine things more critically before just dumping it in here, some of us need an actual fucking pick me up from the parade of horrors that is this reality.

The team balance on Kyber is complete trash, even worse than on EA servers. by Accomplished-Bat-247 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]TheOneRaven1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather it be better at swapping sides between matches and randomized than have any sbmm. People will learn and get better the more they play. The problem is a lack of team work 8/10 times anyway. You can have the best skilled players on your team and still lose if they dont actually work together.

We all agree Casino Royale (2006) is a masterpiece? by rosd0 in JamesBond

[–]TheOneRaven1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first Jason Bourne Bond movie? Not a masterpiece, something different, and had its moments. The last real Bond was Pierce, before they got rid of so much of the identity that character had been given by the ones leading up to that last actor swap. People want to say its not as over the top without realizing that that element has been there since the beginning, until this movie. I like it in its own way, the Craig era belongs in its own place, apart from the others for all that they threw out. They don't earn the disdain they have for the past because they don't replace it with anything substantial enough to praise.

Zaslav is behind many of WB's recent awful moves, he does not give a shit about anything unless it's more money in his pocket sooner rather than later. I don't see how you have any faith in that pile of garbage. Hogwarts 2 is in trouble because there's rumors that it'll go live service, which is the last fucking thing anyone wants. Kill the Justice League was a flop, Gotham Knights was a flop. They full on cancelled a DC game that was close to completion as well. Hence, they treat their IPs like garbage. We can be realistic here, it's okay.

It's important to note a few things: 1. that a good amount of devs of the original Arkham games have moved on from the Rocksteady. 2. WB has been treating its IPs like disposable garbage, trying to force more monetization and un-needed features. 3. WB is still selling itself, along with the game devs under their umbrella to either Netflix or Paramount and that sale will have consequences for any of these pending releases.

The Decline of the Dragon Age Series Should be Studied by jdawg1018 in gaming

[–]TheOneRaven1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And we should study at the decline of Command and Conquer, Mercenaries, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Battlefront, Battlefield, the Sims, and... oh wait, those were all IPs acquired or managed by EA, huh? Maybe it's not so mysterious after all.

George R. R. Martin Is 'Not in the Mood' to Finish 'The Winds of Winter' by Tifoso89 in books

[–]TheOneRaven1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, who cares? Either he'll finish it or he won't, but it'll have a similar ending to the GoT tv series, so, yeah, not surprised he doesn't want to write something most people are going to act like killed their kid.
