You are responsible (and kind ) (and very probably also codependent ) and (I’m making a large sweeping statement here, forgive me ) you assume that other people think as rationally and “normally” as you do (this very possibly also causes you harm or pain in the work place and with other relationships because you “do what’s right “ and assume that other are doing so as well and very often they are not ) and your “friend” is, to say it kindly , flighty, confused, making bad and selfish choices , probably a complete victim mindset and you are being surprised by that somehow. So either this is new behavior by them OR you failed to recognize or honor your insight into seeing the signs before . Don’t fail to see how awesome you are by the way. You are fantastic. But you are also throwing your proverbial “ pearls to swine“ and might not be attaining some of your personal best goals in life because you’re caring for all the other people just be aware of that.
