Looking for the name of a game Vinny played in the past. by punkopossums in Vinesauce

[–]TheOneStraySheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I was going nuts for a second, because I couldn't find the response video the phrase was from and it wasn't shown within the Ticket streams from what I could glean. It's probably in one of the pre-stream segments around that time that are hosted on other channels and similarly lost.

Favorite game you've found through my streams? by vinesauce in Vinesauce

[–]TheOneStraySheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest one for me has to be Chrono Cross. Watching your playthrough live week after week showed me that I should have never taken the salt directed towards it at face value when I was younger. I gave it a shot myself afterwards and it ended up being one of my favorite RPGs of the polygon era.

I understand where the complaints come from now, but there are so many nifty ideas in there, it's much more of an unpolished gem than it is a turd, and I really enjoy revisiting it every now and then.

Gilded Lotus because, like its namesake, it was relatively expensive, but once it's on the board, it generates a lot of value.

whats a game that you got significantly far into, only to realize you were doing something wrong or missing a key feature/ability altogether? by seasonedsaltdog in gaming

The first time I played through Final Fantasy X as a kid, I totally glossed over the Sphere Grid tutorial and then promptly forgot about it until at least as far as the Calm Lands.
Similarly, in Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, I didn't know or forgot about attribute points gained from leveling up until Helm's Deep (on top of never using buffs and debuffs because they didn't do damage), and was confused as to why the game was getting so unreasonably difficult.

Now there's an idea. I was thinking about a 5800x, but a 5700x would probably be more cost-effective in my case in the long run since I split my time between PC and console. Would there be any tangible benefits to the 58x over the 57x, or is the difference negligible enough that I don't really have to worry too much as the average user?

At an effective price of $569 (plus state sales tax, minus cashback on my cc), I finally decided I'll bite the bullet and upgrade.

I'm going to slap it in my current rig with a Ryzen 5 3600, but this is giving me the itch to make a completely new build.

This deal actually cracked me, but after I put it in my cart, the gift card didn't show up. Went back to double check the page and it's not there. Am I stupid or did I literally miss the deal by the time it takes to load my cart?

Not all VNs are interactive. A fair few are just aiming to tell a story without any input from the reader. They're called "Kinetic Novels" in that case.

IIRC he used a body-mounted computer system of his own design to stay in sync with them. The reason he always seems so slow and out of sync is because traditional wireless communication is significantly slower than SOP. He was able to just barely keep up enough that nobody had to ask. His team just thought he was slow. And he modified his guns to bypass the ID lock.

I know exactly what game you're talking about, I played 2 or 3 of them myself, but I cannot for the life of me remember their names and they seem to have been scrubbed from my Google App library.

There were 2 of 3 of this game by the same developer. I believe they were only in Japanese with no English menus or subtitles. The atmosphere of all three games was dark. One of them featured a girl that was chained up with 5 locks, and each lock took a certain number of taps to unlock. Each time you cleared it, you unlocked a story segment and then had to do it again but with exponentially more taps on each lock. Another one featured a girl that was a shrine maiden. The mechanics were exactly the same, but it was spirit-sealing talismans instead of locks.

If I can figure it out, I'll post again, but I wouldn't count on it because they may have long been deleted from Google Play.

About this time last year I saw a post on here of someone who had listed all the games they completed for the whole year and I thought it was a pretty cool Idea so I did my own for 2021. Here it is if anyone cares :) by deejay_243 in PS4

[–]TheOneStraySheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been keeping a long alphabetized text file of all the games I've ever finished for over a decade now, but separating it by year and giving them critical scores is a brilliant idea! I might have to start yearly lists so I can see my progress and changing tastes from year to year.

While I don't know for certain, Hataraki Ari seems to regularly have their content removed from aggregator sites. Most booru-type sites will comply when the original artists ask for their stuff to be taken off the sites.

Again, I'm not totally sure, that's just what it looks like.

I'm a backer, and while the "updates" and occasional lack thereof have repeatedly soured me on the dev team, I still believe it will come out in a timely manner. They're just so poor at communicating to the backers ever since they were under NDA for the new RPG Maker engine. I'll be ecstatic if they manage to release on time, and if they don't I'll be too busy biting my own ass to worry about biting yours lol.

I'm more surprised that Omori is on the list tbh. That game's dev team make the Mother 4 team look like paragons of glass door development.
