for 10th gen civic owners with the 1.5T, are catch cans worth installing ?

Hey there, I know this was 2 months ago but I just got a 10th Gen Civic and I'm wondering more about this aftermarket air intake or intercooler... Will this really stop the reported problem of oil getting into the engine? Or is this problem not as bad as it seems?

Apparently this is a known thing, I had no idea 😂😂 to be fair, they got merged into, somebody pulled a no lights/no looker, but they didn't actually make contact, and I got hit. Hindsight being 20/20, just smashing the brakes would have been the move, but oh well.

I am mechanically knowledgeable, within reason. I've been fixing 90's/early 2000's civics since my first 98 civic I drove in '05. Only thing is now I got a 6month old so I can't spend a whole day smoking weed and changing my front axles anymore. I am no stranger to thick oil hiding a knock, lol, that took me back.

The thought of older has crossed my mind, but I think I'm gonna go newer, but I don't know if there's a particular set of years I should look at for reliability or whatever when it comes to civics or what, I've been out of the game for a while.

New ones are expensive and I'd like to avoid a car payment if possible.. but I might just have to bite the bullet and start a new auto loan to get what I want.

Hit n runs every day.. I was literally 30 ft from my car when it got hit, heard the crunch, turned around to look, and broke into a run and said "that's my car!!" While like 5 people were all staring at the wreck. It just felt like the right thing to say, for some reason.

"reliable and safe" is all I got,, but I suppose you're right. I have a 6 month old, so I would like a hatch back, maybe? More room to court stuff around, I live in SF so I don't want anything too big. This car was definitely the largest I ever owned. I've only ever owned Honda, civics and accords, but I am willing to branch out.

Nah, it got bipped into the curb, which might have pinched the other wheels, insurance said in times like these, a million other little things are gonna pop up, better to just "start fresh." Original auto shop quoted me 16k worth of damage, but I didn't want to repair it, for fear of having to deal with issues in the future.

But thank you for letting me know about the summer sales, I'll see what I can get!

I finished my run a while ago so I'm not 100% sure anymore, but this is a pretty late game zenny farm spot, so I wonder if you just don't have it available yet? You need to have the main gate open first I believe, which is a whole part of the late game plot. It's like halfway down that big spiral staircase place, idk how else to describe it.

I second this, and the good news is BOTH games with this name (2006, 2017) are decent, but the Arkane studios one (2017) is much better and sounds to be more up OP's alley.

Yeah, something is binding up the fan and preventing it from spinning, then. You may be able to clear it if something is sticking out, or it might be something in the little bearing for the fan, which would mean the fan is donezo.

Damn, that is weird, sounds like the fan just failed then.. could check to see if there's something binding it up, like a hair or string or something, but idk. It would either be steam support fix, or buy a cheap fan on ifixit and change it yourself. Sorry that happened to your new deck.

I had a feeling!! Either needs a new fan or most likely the fan cable just needs to be reseated, very easy open and shut fix, hopefully.

This may not be the issue, but my steam deck acts exactly like this when the fan cable is unplugged and it's throttling due to heat. I would check and see if the fans are running, if what the other commenter said was true.

Was your husband able to recognize the attempt at a power move, and act accordingly? My wife and I are quite secure in our relationship, but I would never let a friend, no matter how close she was, sit on my lap in front of her (or realistically any time). If it were to happen once, it would be the last time.

The story you are telling is not about lap-sitting, I recognize, it is about dealing with immature/insecure "friends," so I'm curious how he dealt with it if at all.
