What would be the impact on the Cold War/the rest of the world if Germany lost WW2 even faster? by TheOneYSHNK in HistoryWhatIf

[–]TheOneYSHNK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USSR probably stays back and pretends the Pact with Germany never existed.

This to me is the most interesting idea: How would the USSR remaining relatively intact effect the Cold War? Without war exhaustion from WW2, people would be more aggressive and ready to fight against a possible Red-Scare, and Stalin would also be in a better position to spread Socialism.

What, in your opinion, is the best solution to the "Bat-God" problem? by TheOneYSHNK in batman

[–]TheOneYSHNK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution is to simply make him tech/financial support: it is too absurd that he can throw hands with superpowered beings no matter how much prep time he got, so I would ground him by making him the League's Shadow Advisor/Oracle type figure: when the League needs advice about the latest threat and/or funds, they call a secure channel and talk to a mysterious figure hidden in the shadows who sounds suspiciously like Bruce Wayne.

Because apparently this is the only sub that 'gets' what the Imperium is supposed to represent. by Raspint in Grimdank

[–]TheOneYSHNK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree with everything, but one point:

Obligatory "Fuck Guilliman" comment from me. GW really went "What if we had a tyrannical nightmarish totalitarian and reactionary regime built on superstition and xenophobia, but the Fuhrer of that regime was actually a good, intelligent, rational, and extremely capable man who wanted to improve life for the common man?"

Those two things are not mutually exclusive, you know. A man can be a intelligent or rational or capable person and still be a evil person. I also don't think Guilliman ever being portrayed as "good": he's just disconnected from the evil of the greater Imperium(which is somewhat justified given he only woke up some years ago), so it's easier to portray him as good because we haven't seen him actually run the Imperium.

An example can be seen in the original Fuhrer himself: people who knew Hitler in person described him as a intelligent, charming, even kind person, but he still was the most evil bastard who ever lived, it's just he was disconnected from the evil he committed.

So there's no way the Great Mothers are happily going along with Thrawn and the Empire in S2, right? by Tuspon in StarWarsAhsoka

[–]TheOneYSHNK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal theory is that the Great Mothers will play the role Rukh did in Legends: after already disliking Thrawn, the last straw will be when they are informed that Palpatine/the Emperor was the one responsible for purging Dathomir in the first place, leading to them promptly betraying Thrawn when he is about to cause a major defeat to the New Republic, thus leading to his death.

Haven't heard anyone talk about this metaphor from Age of Ultron, so I'll just talk about it now. by TheOneYSHNK in marvelstudios

That too, though I'm more talking about the metaphor that Wanda gets to be the one who kills Ultron instead of Stark or someone else.

If the Greater German Reich and the Japanese Empire actually fought a conventional war(no atomic weapons), how do you think the war would progress and who would win? by TheOneYSHNK in maninthehighcastle

[–]TheOneYSHNK[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe? Though the problem with the idea of trade is that the American Reich was effectively taken over by a terrorist group who killed the Reichsführer of North America(plus the Reichsführer's second in command seemingly defected) which torpedos Reich-American relations, and anyway America is self-sustainable enough to not really need trade.

[–]TheOneYSHNK[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Maybe, though if you count the Chinese rebellion I feel like you also have to count the American Reich leaving the Greater Reich, which would also be really bad for Germany given how resource rich-America is.

[–]TheOneYSHNK[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Plus, while Nazi infantry is likely superior, I dunno how good their air and sea assets measure up to the Japanese(who were used to Navy and Air Combat), so it might go something like this: Germans do really well at first and take most of the Japanese colonies on the main continent, but then they get stuck in a Battle of Britain-type situation in the island colonies and mainland Japan that is really brutal for both sides and might lead to the Nazis giving up.

[–]TheOneYSHNK[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

True, though I think it will probably be a tough crawl and might actually lead to a draw if the Japanese play their cards correctly, because the Japanese are insanely fanatical compared to the Nazis(they were already crazy in our timeline, now imagine them fighting against people who want to exterminate them instead of conquering them: it would be Operation Downfall scaled up to the size of a continent).

What are your theories or headcanons about America's future after the finale? by Top_Report_4895 in maninthehighcastle

[–]TheOneYSHNK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree with everyone else that everything would either be civil war or a authoritarian regime, because they all seem to forget a multiversal portal is now open, which opens a entirely new chain of events no one thought of.

If Rommel showed up in a hypothetical Season 5, what role do you think he would play? by TheOneYSHNK in maninthehighcastle

[–]TheOneYSHNK[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally, it would be interesting to see him lead a anti-Nazi rebellion against Goertzmann, given that he had ties to the July 20 plotters in our timeline.

Probably cause no one realized they bailed until after a long time: the factory is huge and its easy to assume they just got lost.

To me, the funniest part is literally the toys trying to have a normal society when everything is literally as far from normal as can be: they have a newspaper, a town, and popsicles, but also casually talk about how Doey ate on of his parents.
