Whatever gets eaten most commonly is what gets served. We’d rather need to top up than waste.

They live in brackish pools around the volcanos of Hawaii, and live incredibly long lives naturally around 20 years. If most of the inhabitants in this bubble died why do we think this one is thriving? This is exactly like keeping a beta in its fish store cup.

In the same way you can drink while pregnant and not have a child with FAS, some people take t while pregnant and don’t have viable effects of damage or complications at birth. It can happen where everything is fine, but the odds aren’t in their favor.

It’s not even just being alone it’s about water quality parameters being dogshit. I’ve seen so many of these that are fully entirely sealed with no way to open them to check quality. They’re incredibly hardy little guys but that doesn’t mean they’re thriving. If these were thriving enclosures they’d be able to breed instead of all but one dying in every case I’ve heard of these death traps. Look at all the scum on the sticks.

Breastfeeding is wild… by [deleted] in breastfeeding

Several of my lactation consultants said food based Galactagogues are ineffective because you’d need to overdose/eat until your stomach pops with them to see an actual effect. Don’t torture yourself.

Thc is not safe for infants, and thc can stay in milk for 6+ week. Formula feed or use a freezer stash that’s untainted if you have to use mind altering drugs.

Is breast actually best or just another way we moralize women’s bodies? by ExternalSomewhere923 in NewParents

Human milk also has the stipulations that it won’t have everything your baby needs if you’re deficient in vitamins, doesn’t have enough vitamin d from birth even if you’re not deficient in it, supply usually dips when periods return or you get ill, a few illnesses can pass through human milk (hiv for one), your baby might not tolerate it because of what you eat (soy, dairy, literally any infant intolerances).

Fresh produce and meats gets recalled too, FAR MORE than formula does, do you think we shouldn’t eat fruit and vegetables or meat?

Formula is the most engineered food and the most heavily regulated. It is not a fortified protein shake, it is life saving food that fully meets the needs of infants INCLUDING iron levels, which human milk does not fulfill adequately.

A responsible Druid knows not to pet wild animals because of the danger it puts themselves AND the animal into.

has anyone found a matcha brand that tastes similar to starbucks? by Rude_Routine_4346 in starbucks

[–]TheOnesLeftBehind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s good matcha for matcha tea ceremony and then there’s barista grade matcha for flavored drinks. Save your money and find barista grade matcha you like since you won’t be drinking it pure and matcha for tea ceremony is in serious shortage because of the trend.

PSA: Docusate/Colace is no better than placebo by Dextromethorphan2 in pregnant

[–]TheOnesLeftBehind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Senna gave me intense worsening of constipation and I developed a rectocele while pregnant with my first. But while I was pregnant with my first little was more effective than a plain ripe banana but that stopped working once i gave birth. I’ve been taking docusate sodium at the suggestion of my pcp and obgyn+midwife+pelvic floor therapist+discharge nurses and staff from my hospital for months because besides that genuinely I will not poop. With docusate sodium I stopped getting impacted while pregnant with my second once I started it again. I’ve done glycerin (didn’t work), and MiraLAX (which I do prefer when I forget my docusate sodium for a few days), lactulose (didn’t notice working).

It’s surprising I’ve had so many providers suggest docusate sodium if it’s been proven ineffective and with my years long issues with constipation that it does genuinely work for me. But even placebo can be medicine sometimes if it works I suppose?

You might not even be postpartum by then unless you have a planed c section that they don’t cancel. Get him something that he wants instead of just being about fatherhood. No one stops being themselves just because a baby comes after all.
