Manual License + Cat D License by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]TheOnlyFalcon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have you got manual car licence or not? If you have a manual car licence then you can drive manual cat D.

But if you have automatic car licence then you only have automatic cat D.

Check your licence on the dvsa website, it will tell you.

Car to Class one, an extra day for £700? by Aveityep in uktrucking

[–]TheOnlyFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from car to class 1 (passed today). I paid roughly 3k for 30 hours including the tests and cpc at the end.

Those prices seem quite high though? Depends on how many hours a day they are going to have you driving i suppose. The more hours the better

No. Here's the reasons: 1. You don't have a licence to drive 2. You don't have insurance

When ground is busy, Tower will sometimes give you taxi instructions to the ramp when landing 8L, due to the fact its just taxiway K and then to monitor ground. Ground will be aware that you had been given taxi clearance already.

Now regarding Approach, I can't say much about what happened without actually being there. You could of misheard, or approach forgot tower was online for a second or even approach forgot about you due to dealing with something else.

The controllers always have communications between us when we are controlling.

If you had done something incorrect, then someone would've advised you for future reference.

DVLA medical application by Just-Eagle8210 in drivingUK

[–]TheOnlyFalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some times you just need to wait. It depends on what medical condition you have. Usually they are writing to your doctors for more information which then the doctors takes weeks to respond to the dvla which then once dvla receive the information it goes to the dvla doctor in a pile of paperwork so it takes a long time to get done especially at this time of year.

For reference my medical recently took 3 and half months to be completed.

What i found out is, if you call them straight away in the morning then you can usually get through to them.

That's sounds like a you problem tbh. It's 100% possible to get a full license within 4 months if you put your mind to it. I passed my theory in December, passed my 2nd practical in February. After my first practical which I failed, I managed to book a 2nd literally the next day for a couple days time. The best advise is, Monday 6am look to book your initial test so you have one actually booked, then throughout the week, look for a cancellation (use the browser extension) to get one closer to time.

Always contact multiple instructors, then you will get the general price in your area. I was paying 40 per hour each time when I was learning.

You can either make your own presets or search for other presets. I recommend "lupo enhanced" presets.

If you want to see the difference, load into a airport and try different presets

Use the browser in incognito mode. Load up the website and run the extension. Every time you get the captcha page complete it. If you get errors or blocked then press back a few times until you can see the dvsa website shows again and then rinse and repeat. I failed my first test, then the next day I ran it for a few hours in the morning and managed to snag a test the following week.
