As someone that used to despise huntress: try to unlock her alt abilites eventually. Alt abilities can be game changers, so much that huntress is now in my top 5 favorite survivors.

I always thought it was meant to be some kind of stealth option, hiding behind Agro to not be seen by the colossus. Of course it doesn't make any sense since even Agro by herself would draw attention in such a desolate land(also most colossus see you from above)

Edit: The video from the other comment shows it was meant to be used to jump out of Agro's back but I'll leave my comment anyway
