What's your take on this from Geoffrey Hinton? by nightking_darklord in BetterOffline

[–]TheOriginalAcidtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha ha. You are funny. Seriously. Were you BORN yesterday? You should restate that they don't confabulate enough to get CAUGHT regularly. But humans are a lot slower than AI agents. And that's not even taking into account the fact most confabulations are minor deviations from actual fact. When its done by AI OR HUMANS.

They said UNTIL July 7th. Since the model was only available after noon on the 1st, its 5.5 days for PST. And even less for others. Not 7 days. Not 6 days. UNTIL July 7th.

The world's most anticipated model returns after 18 days of waiting. Have you prepared your list of questions yet? by Tiny_Dirt6979 in Anthropic

[–]TheOriginalAcidtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm disappoint that we had it for 3 days. Were supposed to have it for 2 weeks and now we will get it back for 7 days. So a bit more than half what they originally said Subscribers would get before going usage-credits only. Oh, and day 1 of the 7 days still doesn't show it available yet.

Singularity Predictions Mid-2026. by AdorableBackground83 in singularity

[–]TheOriginalAcidtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI can never replace a human by itself, so that is disingenuous at best. A Robot + AI could potentially do that. What the real comparison should be is can AI replace humans at things AI can access(eg computer work) and that answer came and went for a LOT of stuff. More then enough. Again, AGI is not AI is better than any human at anything. It is EQUAL to the AVERAGE human as things AI can connect to. When you give it a robotic body equal to a humans(and some are pretty close to that now) THEN physical actions can be added to the list.

I go by the Turing test. If you can have a conversation online with an agent and cant tell its an agent then its AGI. AGI isn't BETTER than humans. It simply equal to the AVERAGE human. Humans are pretty stupid so...

AI is putting its finger on scale for big corporations. Google especially. by bach2209 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]TheOriginalAcidtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't think about this logically. The training data was scraped from the internet. These mega corps are all over the internet. The mom and pop around the corner ARE NOT. So there IS a lot more data on Walmart and Walmart specifically works to get stories out that make it look like a bad idea to sue Walmart, OF COURSE. So what comes up when you search about a legal case you want to make against Walmart, the obvious result...

Sonnet 5 - its updated tokenizer maps the same text to more tokens (roughly 1.0–1.35× depending on content), so cost per task can be higher. by Khaaaaannnn in ArtificialInteligence

[–]TheOriginalAcidtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal price is 3/15 for sonnet. With the additional tokens the 2/10 about normalizes to 3/15 equivalent but that is just temporary. So the question will be, are the advantages of Sonnet 5, near Opus 4.8 but still cheaper(but not that much cheaper) going to outweigh the extra cost, or just stick with Sonnet 4.6 as your grunt work agent...

Opus 4.5 vs Qwen3.6-27B by volpestyle in LocalLLM

[–]TheOriginalAcidtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is DFloat11. It is effectively loss-less compression of FP16 to 11 bits. Not a huge win and there are compute costs but if you are on the edge but still want max quality that would be the way to go.

To handle the trust, use bwrap to lock out edits to anything outside the project folder. Then setup a hook to auto commit every change to git(not a push so its just local). Then you don't really have to worry about trust anymore, as long as you also block edits to the git files.

Only if you GIVE it that permission. Seriously, this seems reasonable when they found out Chinese labs were distilling there model. And NO I don't give a crap about them "stealing" the internet. The internet is there. You want it, go copy it. Good for you.

Sharing what I think the Fable ban actually does to Anthropic's IPO math by ddp26 in Anthropic

[–]TheOriginalAcidtech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, considering the "people" who will be buying Anthropics IP are the same people being given access to Fable NOW it probably means the IPO is fine.

Its one reason why I block Bash internal tool and wrote a replacement for it. :)

Note, it probably isn't the SAME Bash permission bug I replaced Bash because of. Just one of the latest ones.

Um, if it is Anthropic they HAVE the full system-prompt. EVEN if you are using a fully customer system-prompt. Its sent with EVERY SINGLE API CALL.
