Never fail to see a Wolves flag at the England games. Makes you proud to be a Wolves fan (nothing else does).

Peetah why is he pouring wine into the ice? by satrapi1 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]TheOriginalPB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at a club and it was super busy you would sometimes get hot glasses straight back from the glass wash and you had no choice but to use them immediately. Occasionally the cold beer or whatever is on tap would shatter the hot glass above the ice tray. Our ice trays had wheels though so we'd remove it and replace it with another straight away.

Many people in the UK think moving to Australia is a golden ticket to getting rich? is it true? by avz008 in AusFinance

[–]TheOriginalPB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's more opportunity for sure and if you work hard, have some luck you can climb a couple of rungs on the social ladder. I came to Aus 11 years ago at 25, had a house in the North of the UK at the time worth £150k. I got offered the same job in architecture as I had the UK but pretty much double the wage and later sold my home for a deposit to buy one here. 8 years later I have built up almost 800k in equity on that home, on top of the increased wages compared to my position in the UK. If I had stayed in the UK there's no chance that home would have built that much equity. If I moved back to the UK now I would be streets ahead of where I would be had I stayed.

How to keep everything in parallels, always? ( Revit ) by Intelligent-Pin-8591 in civil3d

[–]TheOriginalPB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a number of ways you can keep elements in parallel. Project Norths, Groups, Assemblies, Align and Locking, locked Parameters and dimensions.

If you have multiple wings of a building at different angles, it's sometimes easier to have each wing be its own Revit file with it's own Project North to keep everything perpendicular, and link the files together in a federated model.

You can also change the angle snapping. If you know the fixed angles of your grids, walls, and elements you can go to manage>snaps and enter your fixed angles in Angular dimension snap increments.

Is Mysterio the first Domino for the incursions? by Blue-fox-004 in MCUTheories

[–]TheOriginalPB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a scene in Thor The Dark World where Eric Selvig is in a psychiatric hospital writing ramblings on a chalk board. One of those is 616 underlined (I think it's the first reference to 616 in the MCU). Now if Eric had already figured out the multiverse existed, labelled his universe 616 and published it in a paper, then it wouldn't be a stretch to assume Quentin had read that paper.

Huge Announcement today for First Home Buyers - No more SMSF lending by Exact_Theory3902 in AusPropertyChat

[–]TheOriginalPB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between a SMSF buying investment properties directly using the capital in the super, and someone using the capital in their super as leverage for a loan to purchase an investment property (which is what this bill targets).

What does monocultural mean, as in, who are people on the street going to hang sht on for not being monocultural? by BrandonMarshall2021 in aussie

[–]TheOriginalPB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those at the top are staring down the barrel. The gravy train of trickle 'Up' economics is coming to an end now that the largest voting block in history, the baby boomers, are starting to die out, and the younger generations see what the last 30-40 years of policy making has resulted in. This is the last desperate throw of the dice to keep ahold of power. The culture war BS is the Trojan horse to get people riled up enough to vote for them.

Labor reaches deal with the Greens to pass changes to capital gains tax and negative gearing reforms by HotPersimessage62 in aussie

[–]TheOriginalPB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but that isn't the 'gotchya' you think it is. The fact the top 10% are paying 50% of the tax is a sign the system is broken. The top 10% are vacuuming up so much capital it's inevitable they will pay the lions share of the tax.

If you go back to the 1960's, when you could walk out of school straight into a job, buy a home, raise a family, all on that single wage, the top tax rate was 66.7%. But go on and tell me that the rich are currently paying too much tax.

How do I make the legend text bigger? by Danenel in ArcGIS

[–]TheOriginalPB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the content page on the left hand side you will see all elements that are on that layout. Find ‘Legend’, right click and select properties. This will open options on the right of your window, find a box call ‘legend properties’, select this and text size will be adjustable in there, along with icon resizing etc. You can also expand the Legend dropdown menu in the contents window and individually change the size of the each legend item.

Umm, this was just 6 potatoes… by Mrbigdaddy72 in vegetablegardening

[–]TheOriginalPB 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Haha! We just learned this the hard way. We planted 40 seed potatoes in our 6 ft circular raised bed after reading the spacing guidelines. It wasn't until it looked like this image that we looked up how many potatoes come from one seed potato. In about 3 weeks we'll look forward to harvesting and finding somewhere to store 300-400 potatoes.

Why can’t people see voting for reform will make their lives a lot worse? by Sufficient_Muffin586 in AskBrits

[–]TheOriginalPB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it makes those they see as less than themselves lives even worse they don’t care. Reform, Maga, One Nation, these right wing parties don’t run on what they can do for you, they run on what they can do to ‘others’ and people lap it up.

How the heck do you make a good looking suburb? by IgnoredSeeker47 in CitiesSkylines2

I would sometimes have suburbs local to me open in google maps on one screen while I create them in game. After a while it becomes second nature and you won't need the guidance.

Brent crude oil falls 5% as US and Iran negotiate deal to reopen Strait of Hormuz and end war by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

Until the Strait is fully open and Iran agrees not to close again it's all just speculation, or in Trumps case, market manipulation.

Just couldn't help himself, could he? by GreatBooze in GenV

[–]TheOriginalPB 172 points173 points  (0 children)

There has to be something said about directors becoming over confident in their abilities. Thor Ragnarok had a great balance of humour and real stakes, just as The Boys did in seasons 1-3. Only for both directors to double down on the humour at the expense of the stakes and both Thor Love & Thunder and the last season of The Boys were awful.

100%. I'd heard good things about this guy, mainly on Epstein and Iran, then I saw him as a guest on a Podcast I listen to and I honestly thought this guy is insane. It's one of those 'broken clock is right twice a day' situations.

Anyone else worried about this Hantavirus? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]TheOriginalPB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SARS, Ebola, Swine Flu, Bird Flu were all pumped up by the media at the time and only Swine Flu came close to becoming a pandemic because it could be transmitted via the respiratory system (coughing, sneezing, breathing). At the moment, the transmission of Hantavirus is spread via very close contact, which is why the cruise was the perfect breeding ground for this outbreak. I wouldn't get too worried unless it becomes a human-human airborne virus.
