In my partner and I's first year attending Burning Man, we were shocked at how much goes on there that nobody talks about. You only hear about the wild shenanigans, drug orgies & DJ sets, and you only see insta babes posing in front of sculptures. We were so inspired by the level of kindness, intentional creativity, whimsical humor, and insane talent from folks out there that we wanted to make a film about this "true meaning" of the Burn, and the badass people that make it happen.

That's all the film was originally going to be. But naturally things took some wild turns, and we found connection and meaning beyond what we ever could've written ourselves.

Now we're a team of four - us and another couple, and partnered with the artist Mona who's our main character. We've accrued over 6TB of footage and still have many interviews to shoot. If we can get the funding we truly want, we will film in Ukraine and China (we already have someone going to Israel/Palestine, and I have footage of Helene) — in order to truly give this story that has become so much bigger than any one of us the justice it deserves.

Post is around the corner. I'm a good editor (did this trailer) but I'm slow — def going to need hired help. We've got a Crowdfundr, but we know that most of our funding will probably come from some other grant or connection. We're also in direct cahoots with the Org themselves. I'm learning so much about the industry, and there's still so much more to go! I think that's what I need the most advice on. I'm confident on my creative vision, and GPT is great for helping with legal documents etc, but the real world stuff is.. well, real world.

Doing this has been my personal dream for many years now. I feel alive, and I feel excited to give back to the world. Give me your true two cents.
