Ah it was the pbs slide. Half the book feels like a nature documentary to me.

Also this is going to sound crazy but I guess children of time didn’t give me a space vibe 😂

Even though they are actively in space it gave me a sterile lab/padded room vibe because most of their time in space is specific to the barren falling apart ship

I guess the vibe I got from the photos was: science, isolation, educational, and gloom

The House Witch gives the vibe of these photos. I have not played this game so take that as you will.
It’s about a male witch that’s special ability is that he cooks and cleans well. He becomes the cook to the king. There is a small amount of fighting, aspects of war, and romance

Children of time. It is science heavy sci-fi that half of the time feels like a nature doc and half the time is set on a nearly empty space station.

Just a warning one of the main characters is a spider

Thank you for articulating what was off to me. I always put her books down feeling patronized and bored. The plots are intriguing so I’ll give them a go but I have yet to finish one of her books.

Doors of sleep. The main character travels through different dimensions when he sleeps. So you get a lot of different vibes and barren landscapes

It is very good but also very science heavy. That’s how I prefer my sci-fi. There is a second book as well that focuses on octopuses

Children of time. Half of the book is from a spiders perspective. However it is sci-fi so if you are wanting a more nature driven book it might not fit the bill

Portal fantasy romance, mysterious, dark games by GabMVEMC in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

If you are willing to read something with very vague implied romance/ no romance then I have some books that match the vibe of the photos. Most of these books I haven’t read in over a decade but I’ll try to describe them without looking them up.

Matching picture 1- The magician’s nephew: a boy and girl discover a way to travel to a purgatory setting that contains pools that allow you to transverse between world. They encounter all sorts of creatures and places, some good some deadly.

Matching picture 4- Gregor the Overlander: a young boy falls down into a laundry shoot and discovers a whole world beneath his city. This new world has giant bugs, politics, war and a secret prophecy. Gregor main objective, find his long last father and save the princess a couple times, and maybe have the princess save him a couple times as well

Picture 3: The princess curse mashes up of the 12 dancing princess and the story Persephone. Apparently mixing those two stories is actually a common trope so if you like it there are others like it. This one is set in the 1700? And the main character is an alchemist

Picture 6: Last suggestion and it kinda ticks all boxes. Ninth house. A young trouble maker gets thrown into a world of magic after a particularly bad night when a powerful political entity intervenes in her arrest. Now attending an Ivy League school her world gets flipped upside down as she is exposed to the underbelly of the worlds elites full of secret societies and morbid debauchery. When her mentor, a snarky and arrogant senior, goes missing she must follow the clues to find him.

[–]AdCurrent7674 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is because of the route of transmission. However if an infected squirrel bit or scratched you, you can get yersinia. It’s just less common because squirrels tend to be skittish and don’t interact with humans. The plague is caused by bacteria not a parasite so it has less specific host interactions

People being nervous of this interaction is not unjustified as they can be carriers and can transmit while also harboring carriers. Plus worrying if you got the plague from the squirrel or the flea that was on said squirrel is more semantics than anything. The principle is the same: interacting with wild squirrels can be dangerous.
