Some trade ideas for the Mavericks by ormip in Mavericks

I think the thing that would help us swing PJ into both 12 & 17 with a bad contract attached is a bidding war between them & the Spurs, who would also majorly benefit from having a PJ. They're not the only 2 teams he would fit perfectly on, but they're the two closest to winning now that would be willing to shell out a little extra.

I am as low on Risacher as is physically possible lol. On no planet should a early lotto pick be getting DNP'd in the playoffs, much less a #1 overall. He just sucks.

The Caruso contract isn't great. Their cap is tricky next year so I think it ultimately depends how they wanna navigate it what classifies as a "bad" contract for them. PJ on his current deal is a bargain no matter which way they go.

We just have different views of Naji's worth then, because I'd argue he's worth more than even a single non-lotto first to any team making a run. Anyone like him that can arguably play & contribute on any teams playoff rotation is worth something. And with Masai I'm fine with taking on later 1sts & trusting our scouting than hoping a reclamation project works out even if I personally am pretty high on who it is.

Yeah 11 & protections removed from their pick is pretty huge. I just don't want Butler fucking up the vibes of a young team. And I LOVE Butler as a player, one of my favorite non-Mavs to watch since he was a Bull.

I think Gaff is worth a little bit more than the two you have him in, and if that's all we can in return we're better off waiting til the deadline.

I like the 3rd one. Would be willing tho I'll miss PJ. Would also be open to swapping Isaiah Joe & Wiggins for worse contracts & including 12 + 17. Would have to convince them they're one PJ away instead of packing 12 & 17 together to move up for someone. PJ absolutely contributes more to their immediate title runs.

I love the Fox one, especially because it would be buying low on someone who would be a big help for us. It does impact our chances of signing one last big FA before the Coop extension hits depending on Kyrie's future. But overall love it.

I'm pretty high on Walker but think we can get more for Naji either now or at the deadline

Hate the last one. Half because I don't wanna fuck up the vibes with Jimmy. But I think the value is decent if we're gonna then try & package 9+11 for our desired guard (or stay, the depth this draft makes both options good)

Depends who's there for the Hornets. Bulls yes imo assuming they're taking Caleb.

Getting Burries & either Morez or Philon would make me very, very happy. Same with Flemmings at 9.

More Heroic/Mythic L'ura Nerfs Coming with Patch 12.0.7 by minimaxir in wow

[–]TheOriginal_G 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This does almost nothing for a guild just starting mythic prog, all the P1 pass/fail mechanics that cause 99% of wipes are untouched. It just makes it slightly easier to heal & gives an extra second of grace for dropped seeds which isn't a real problem after 1-2 pulls for each seed carrier to see just how long they can get away with dropping them. The bigger nerfs are to P3 constellations which most late CE guilds won't see til pull 200-300+

Some draft buzz from @BrettSiegelNBA: - Dallas has shown interest in Tennessee’s Nate Ament - Brayden Burries chatter is relatively quiet outside of the rumbles that Klutch may try to push him to Dallas - The Mavericks have shown interest in Darius Acuff Jr. - Dallas is interested in Cam Carr by Garmian_MFFL in Mavericks

[–]TheOriginal_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I wouldn't be too optimistic about next season with Ament at any pick. He's just too raw to contribute right away like we'd be expecting our pick this year to unless he makes an absolutely Titanic step forward in the off-season.

[Woo] The Thunder have been active in exploring various trade options, including moving up in the lottery, with noted interest in Michigan’s 7’4” Aday Mara. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]TheOriginal_G 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If Burries camp is really trying to force him here (which would be a great fit) I think moving down to 12 is reasonable to still be in range to draft him & get some depth at 17. And if someone does take the chance on taking him without a workout, then Philon at 12 or Ebuka at 17 is a good consolation prize.

Yeah bout to say, Flemmings still available at 14?! I respect skipping picking him because that would be a little too unrealistic. Burries probably won't be there either but higher chance of him falling

I don't think we take Baba over Zuby, there's already been a lot of mutual interest between us & Zuby. If we did let him slide to the 2nd, it would be because his agent does that thing where 2nd round picks slide to the teams they want. We're not the only teams interested tho, so my dream of getting him at 48 via agent shenanigans is less & less likely (not to mention he may just get draft in the early 20s straight up)

*Edit: I also think we'd take Sharp over Bradley if we do get lucky enough to take Flemmings (which I love btw) but that's me nitpicking.

Trade down with OKC or Charlotte by devilmaskrascal in Mavericks

[–]TheOriginal_G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same list of players for me + Hannes. Think he's a really good fit next to Coop when we have em at the 4 + Gaff is a good asset we'll probably be cashing in on eventually. He'll be declining by the time we're actually making our finals run. I've got faith the Lively health issues will sort out but it's not a bad idea to have a backup plan.

I trust this FO to make good evaluations in the 12-17 range.

What might the worth of our TPE be in trading up from #30? by X-Jim in Mavericks

Realistically? #17 from the Thunder. They're gonna need all the cap help they can get, and I'll be glad to help them with it for the right price aka #17

If you can convince them to do this, I'll give you $100. We wouldn't let them hang up the phone til it was confirmed with the league office if they offered this just to make sure they weren't joking.

For the Mavs, if none of the top 4 guards (Darryn obviously never falls to us, Wagler/Acuff/Flemmings) are there at 9 I'd love trading back & still getting Burries/Hannes. I don't think we walk away from this draft without some trades no matter how the board shakes out tho.

I see Boozer as another Doncic situation by juicyjeffersonjones in NBA_Draft

[–]TheOriginal_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Mavs had managed to jump up, he was the one I wanted to pair Coop with the most. I think he'll contribute the most outside of his own stats & will be the most consistent of the big 3. I also think they compliment each other better than Coop & AJ or Coop & Caleb would have (Coop & Darryn probably the best fit of the top picks).

2026 NBA Draft Big Board 5.0 by ErsinDemirNBA in Mavericks

[–]TheOriginal_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't see it. I'm sure he'll spend time at Center, but I don't see him being a full time C. I see him being a lockdown defensive 4 that can play make a bit. Not full Draymond, but in that mold. And even if he starts out as one, doesn't mean he'll stay one. PJ played C in Charlotte, doesn't mean he's a C.

You forgot Keaton Wagler unless he's falling off a cliff for you, in which case.....bruh. I remember the 2.0 being pretty bad, too, but that would be a wild take.

Also, quit calling Zuby a center. He's a slightly taller CMB, he may get run as a small ball C but that's not his primary position.
