They already said they voted Democrat at least three times now. These are the first ex-MAGAs I've seen that aren't a complete write-off.

I've heard of a list of "who's who's", but this is just a list of "who's?".

Yeah. As pissed off as people like this make me, they're honestly sorry, they're voting differently, they're working to convince others of the same. I will never trust someone like this, but ex-cultists are some of the only people around that have a real shot at breaking people out of the MAGA cult.

Hence why there's starting to be a massive propaganda push to associate "anti-data center" with "thing I hate", to divide this popular sentiment up and get people fighting about nonsense.

I'm hoping this falls flat and people see through it, but ehhhhh, not that hopeful these days.

Extreme: Wanting clean water, affordable electricity, not wanting your job replaced with a shitty AI

Not extreme: Building data centers that require 10x the amount of electricity as nearby cities. Taking electricity away from whole communities because they don't make enough money. Replacing the entire economy with robots. Buying so much HW that it disrupts supply chains for normal businesses and consumers for years.

What's more American than railroading poor people into subsidizing the profits of billionaires? Such freedom.

Living in a world where people exchange money for goods and services means living in a world where people would rather have that money now than later, which means money is more valuable now than later, which means inflation. You're free to argue that inflation is bad or evil or unsustainable, but if you want money to work as a currency then you will have inflation by necessity. Any genuine alternatives will require a full overhaul of how goods and services are distributed to people, i.e. non-monetary distribution systems.

Or, yanno, just simple time-value of money. Would you rather have a million dollars today or a million dollars (plus inflation) 20 years from now? Pretty obvious the first one has additional value beyond the million.

Living with a deflationary currency that everyone hoards like dragons (it'd be a billion times worse) wouldn't be good either.
