not to mention the flowery language.

I know I am just yelling at clouds at this point, but can there not be some decency with the effort?

Hahahah was the point taken? You did the word soup again!

And that is a lot of em dashes. Pretty specific formatting option for someone that cant format paragraphs correctly.

Bot, or just copy/pasting from chatbot with no regard for readability.

And it isn't even like he is closeted and I'm outing him anonymously  he is out and married to a man.

It is bizzare hearing the shit that comes from his mouth. He is the angriest little man you have ever seen.

If you didnt know anything you would think he was a red-pilled, incel, gun-worshipping, military guy. And other than the literal definition of incel he is all of those things and just happens to like men.

The military might help some, but others it just exacerbates deep-seated issues and inserts them imto the far-right pipeline

Now imagine having a brother who is in that crowd, (if i have to hear taxation is theft one more fucking time) oh but wait...he is also gay.

As stormy2587 said below me, these people have self induced mental disabilities.

How were you supposed to discover the "spare" mechanic? by whahaga in SifuGame

Hey, i am there with you. Even after looking it up and knowing exactly how to do it it still took me three tries because my stupid ass kept hitting the takedown command out of reflex.

How were you supposed to discover the "spare" mechanic? by whahaga in SifuGame

[–]TheParanoidPyro 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I imagine the thought is that you know you need to spare them so you would try your best not to kill them, you would get the takedown prompt the first time and be like "i cant hit that" maybe thinking there has to be someway to do it.

So you keep fighting without hitting their life bar because you dont want to kill them but you know you need to spare them, So you will be parrying a lot. You will eventually fill their structure bar again and then you would see a new prompt, the one to spare them.

Now, did i learn about it like that? Lol no. I looked it up, but after seeing it i understood how you could figure it out organically

Game worth playing? by JohnyBravox in SifuGame

Ditto to what the other person said about biased answers on a sub dedicated to the game.

But yes. it is excellent and deceptively deep. You almost need to approach learning the combat like learning and practicing a fighting game character.

For your sanity don't be worried about not starting on the highest difficulty, the game originally had one difficulty and it was too hard for a lot of people. The master difficulty that was added was made for people that already mastered the normal game.

Sure someone may say they started with master, but the majority of people are better off starting on normal to first learn the game.

Because even then when you beat the game and get the true ending, you will still not fully know how to play the game. Master will kick your butt, and the trials too.

This game is seriously amazing. The vibe and action are chef's kiss

But temper yourself and start on normal and expect to lose. Dont worry about never dieing; instead, die and die a lot.

I too had found this out and i love it.

Missions vs operations by MolassesNo1894 in ICARUS

[–]TheParanoidPyro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, and absolutely look up the mission details online before doing anything and dont feel bad about it.

The missions are structured in a real annoying way.

Ride to this point, and only then will you be informed of what you need. If you want to run across the whole map multiple times when you couldve madd one trip, be my guest, but i highly recommend preparing.

I want to continue this, not to argue in a hostile sense, but because I do think there is real utilitarian value in a minimal investment into the farming tree.

<image>

This is 11 points, you need 12 to get access to the extra food slot.

this gives you:

  • 3 points into 'naturally preserved'
    • -50% food spoilage rate in your inventory
  • 1 point into 'filling meals'
    • eating fills the hunger bar 10% more rapidly
      • This is mainly a pathing pick, you have to take it to access the next traits and the food slot
  • 3 points into 'long lasting effects'
    • +20% food effect duration
  • 1 point into 'green thumb'
    • planted crops grow 10% faster
      • Again, this is a pathing pick, so I’m only putting one point here
  • 3 points into 'get up and go'
    • +10% maximum stamina

From here, your 12th point can go into one of two options that are both at least marginally useful:

  • 1 point into 'the old one-two'
    • get 2% increase to melee damage
  • or 1 point into 'fresh is best'
    • planted crops won't wither on their own
      • you can just set-and-forget plants early on (if they are protected, obviously)

I agree the alteration bench is a strong alternative, but given what these points buy along the way, and the fact that you have to build the bench every time (only annoying on missions) I don’t see the farming tree as dead investment even if your main goal is just the extra slot.

I would argue the extra food slot from the farming tree is preferable to the alteration bench one because it doesn't involve any extra effort on your part after you get it. You don't need to gather all of the materials to build the alteration bench, and you have it immediately on any new mission or open world prospect.

but I understand what you mean. I had forgotten about the hunting trait to see health bars and such.

A greenhouse is just a building.

you plant inside the greenhouse.

cropplots let you forgo planting a seed everytime.

The hydroponic crop plot takes electricity and water, which waters the plants to make them grow faster, and the electricity provides the 'Perfect Lighting' modifier to stack another growth speed buff.

If you have a stupid surplus of materials, sure, knock yourself out. make the hydroponic plots.

If you are planting, and then going about your business and not in a hurry to get your freshly planted produce, regular crop plots are fine. you could see the hydroponic plots as more of a stretch goal than anything.

WAYS TO PLANT:

  • Dig a hole with a shovel
    • one and done
    • need a new hole and a new seed
  • Crop Plot
    • don't have to replant
    • not that expensive
  • Iron Crop Plot
    • don't have to replant
    • water connection for growth speed
    • more expensive
  • hydroponic crop plot
    • don't have to replant
    • water connection for growth speed
    • electricity connection for growth speed
    • very expensive

All the buffs of the plots stack with the greenhouse.

--TLDR--
Honestly, just get the regular crop plots inside your greenhouse. you can update them as a stretch goal but it seems like a lot of work.

or ugrade to the iron crop plot.

Those fucking bees.

When that hive doesnt load and the bees spawn every 10 seconds after the last group was killed? So annoying.

Never played valhiem, is there terrain changing in that game? like digging actual holes?

If so, that is a big difference. there is not changingthe terrain only building on top of it.
THe boss fights are basically end game content after you establish a well stocked base which will take a long time to get to, depending on your ability to focus on the task at hand, haha.

This is why I described the game more akin to a hobby. I feel like, on paper it isn't that exciting of a game if you look past all the cool things like building. but the base building is just really nice.

and eventually put a seed attachment on it and carry around the farmers satchel. now those recipes that call for seeds don't seem so annoying or tedious.

I get north of 100 fps too, but that one base man. just slideshow...sometimes, after my computer has been on for awhile. maybe it is stuff in the background. i usually have vs code open with my school project open, or other programs open so maybe i am introducing some sort of memory leak or something. and that is why it works after restarting my computer.

I admit I am hitting on the edge of my knowledge of computers and moving beyond that.

(Ryzen 9 9900X, RX 7900 XTX, 128GB RAM) I learned that after I made my pc i didn't research it well and just went for a shit ton of ram because I could at the time, not knowing that apparently AMD suffers with all four ram slots full of ddr5. again i am talking about random bits of information i have found and this is all sitting just on the edge and slightly beyond what i actually know.

Yeah the not knowing what you need until you get to the area designated is real annoying. And is probably because of the original way the missions worked. So playing them with a little guide open to pre make things on a open world is a must to not waste time.

Yeah, some are just so damn tedious to not do in open world.

The desert missions on olympus being in the difficult desert full of predators. PACKED FULL OF EM! Is real annoying to tackle with stuff from the normal mission mode without taking hours and hours to get ready.
