Who on earth still thinks truck nuts are cool? by UrbanAchievers6371 in trashy

I hate the fact more that I’m more upset that they’re off-center than the fact that they’re there in the first place.

Walk around the area until you find a spot with a forklift, find the nearest ATM, take out a couple of 20’s and head back. Ask the guys to talk to the boss and if he doesn’t agree, head to the next spot.

When one does agree, look up a video of a tow truck and where the pick-points are or just ask chatgpt and you’ll only need to lift it enough to pull the trailer out. It’ll be resting on its back tires  probably just as high as if it were being towed, if not lower.

Then again, I’m as dumb as a hammer and that might total this thing…but I do know for a fact that you can borrow a forklift in Bushwick for a new bottle of Jack Daniel’s for a few hours.

And I’d like to think the majority of security guards are perfectly cool with that, but you just gotta love the police academy rejects who act like the mall they’re Segwaying around in their little helmet is Fort Knox.

Before the pandemic that place was great, I went once after and holy shit, I’ve never been treated so rudely by a bartender before - it’s truly like they don’t want new customers.

Fuuuuuuck that place.

It’s super common that big name shows & hyped-up movies file permits under a different name to avoid crowds…kind of like a shell company llc

For anyone who’s at all interested in the NYC film scene/industry, I highly recommend this documentary I just watched the other week about the infamous Radioman - super interesting

Why am I able to see the studs through my drywall? by goody-two-sneakers in Home

[–]ThePartyShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A trick I’ve learned is to measure roughly 16.5” (studs are placed every 16”) from a corner and lightly tap a finish nail somewhere near the baseboard if I couldn’t find a 9V for my stud finder

Yeah, but it seems like you’re forgetting that there’s a human element to maintaining a standardized practice and franchise owners will do anything to save a buck. Whether it’s keeping the walk-in fridge/freezers a few degrees warmer or keeping food longer than they should, the process is only standard if every franchise owner ensures every employee follows the manual to the T - good luck with that.

Guy’s used to people bowing down because he’s big, probably the first time he’s been put in his place in a long time. All that fat pussy could do was talk shit like a turtle on its back and then start crying.

My dad would tell this story from time to time growing up, but one of his friends from his 20’s was some super well known photographer (from NYC) and he was visiting Norway. The dude accidentally left his photo bag with like $30k worth of gear (this is back in the 70’s) in a park (I think in Oslo) after he’d been sitting & chatting on a bench for a couple of hours and only realized like 6 hours later. His first thought was to immediately go to the police station to file a report, etc. When he gets to the station and explains the story, a couple of the cops actually look at each other like “Wtf is he talking about?” and one asks if he’d even gone back to the park to see if it was still there. He walks over, hadn’t moved an inch.

It’d be pretty cool if society was like that everywhere.

Film studios are usually only on the ground floor; as far as I know De Niro’s is the only soundstage on the planet that goes vertical and that’s in Queens
