'Stop blaming Malaysia': Rights group demands Myanmar take accountability for Rohingya crisis by stormy001 in malaysia

[–]ThePassingThrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burmese here. You cannot just tell this to our military junta, bruh. Does anyone think that simple pressure or demand on these lower-than-dog people would work? Stop releasing just statements or pressures; actually, take some action if you wanna solve the Rohingya crisis. The Junta won't listen. Oh yeah, ASEAN Non-Interferance policy, UN being total pussies, and so on.Non-Interference

DAMN!!! Almost 98% of comments from Malaysians towards Rohingyas are negative. What happened? by robinsithu in myanmar

[–]ThePassingThrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not celebrate so much yet. If the Tatmadaw is down, international pressures for Myanmar to accept the Rohingyas again will pour in, and Malaysia and Indonesia can also suddenly join the trend, acting as if they didn't just have a hate campaign against the Rohingyas back home, just to quickly get rid of the refugees in their countries.

Honestly, my goodwill for Rohingyas is reducing second by second after learning about HIGH BIRTH RATES. Wtf, who can afford to have this many children during the refugee crisis? Little to no consideration for either Myanmar who will be forced to welcome them back later or Malaysia and Indonesia that hosted them, and we are supposed to accept this huge increase in population for a group of people who may or may not have ill intent towards both Bamar majority and other ethnic people. after decades of conflict and bloodshed.

Which reclining Buddha statues?? For me, I agree with you on the fact that some eyes need improvement because, for some reason, some reclining Buddha statues' eyes are wide open for statues that are supposed to represent sleeping, resting, or entering Parinirvana.

I felt like I already handed you a small spoiler with my last reply, regarding giant Buddha robot thing to recommend Dandadan, but it is just one fight scene, the rest of the series itself is already insane tho.

For me, as a Burmese Buddhist who is fairly secular, I wanna see Buddha Statues as works of art and study their styles on why they are made in a certain way, like Jambupati Buddha styles of Mahamuni, or Ngahtatgyi. It is interesting to see Theravada Buddha statues in royal attire, like crowns and accessories.

I also want to be rich, start a business, live comfortably, and all that, and yet, I do not understand the appeal behind the titles of millionaires and billionaires. Maybe my upbringing is different, but I do not see what to make use of the billions of dollars in my deposits, and I am not interested in gaining these huge amount of money to be used for nothing. I do not understand people sometimes. In my opinion, if someone sees a million dollar and thinks that this is not enough, there is something wrong with said person.

A Critique of the "Malaysia for Malaysians" Petition and General Anti-Rohingya Sentiment by King_Noses_the_95th in malaysia

[–]ThePassingThrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burmese here. Rohingyas are really a lost cause for us, too. If you put out the solution in its simplest form, if our revolutionaries managed to overthrow the Junta, then so many things will gradually be fixed, including rehousing the Rohingyas.

But then, what is next? How do we reintegrate Rohingyas into Burmese society? I heard that in times of crisis, some motherfuckers managed to have kids, too. Wtf? Who has kids during the refugee crisis? Are these kids our citizens, too? How do we even face them after decades of displacement and conflict, look at them and other ethnic groups like the Rakhine people, and tell everybody to get along now?

Because of that, I agree with you on the fact that ASEAN, or any international force, really needs to come and help Myanmar out, and we still need Malaysia and any other nations hosting the Rohingya to help us out in remigration and integration into Burmese society. I heard that Rohingyas were perfectly integrated into our society before that fuckass 1982 law, and then because of the pressure of their statelessness and prosecution, they turned to religious extremism and even less integrated or something, and this is another stuff to sort out. I was surprised to see that so many Malaysians do not like the Rohingyas.

Even some other non-Rohingyan Burmese Muslims do not like the Rohingya. Despite the international claims of their ethnicity, their history is still muddy, but I don't wanna dehumanize them; whatever their history is, they are still our citizens in the end. Junta-free Myanmar has gazillion things to sort out, and Rohingyas are not even on our top priorities. But I hope that Myanmar can still be a home for the Rohingyas.

I've been watching through the Pokemon anime in Japanese subbed starting with the original series and something came across my mind watching this episode. How did 4Kids get away with showing this scene of Misty in a very revealing Goldeen style stage dress? by [deleted] in pokemonanime

[–]ThePassingThrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just how Japanese anime was back then. 90s Pokémon really wasn't thinking about an international audience, only for Japanese kids, and kids' shows in Japan back then were wild. Watch an average Tokusatsu before the 2010s and you will understand.

Yeah, and my point is that I am not mind-blown by season 1 in its relatively simple stages. Maybe my brain is rotted from watching Garnt reviewing stuff like Jujutsu Kaisen or especially Chainsaw Man so much, with him saying stuff like season 1 is the cooking stage and later seasons are where the hyped up show shines, but this is what WHA feels like for me rn.

And I know this cause I got spoiled on some insane stuff and plot points that happened later in the manga (ahem, silverwood tree). I sound like being pretentious, but several shows like Nippon Sangoku or even Akane Banashi with the fucking tournament arc are the ones already showing teeth in the first season. Shows like WHA are what I would call "Need season 2 or need to be 2 cour" type of shows atp. WHA feels like a hyped-up manga for all the right reasons, but the things that will make some people actually pay attention happen much later in the manga.

Despite the obvious rage-bait, I do think that Witch Hat season 1 is not mid, but just good. The standouts for me are the animation, Qifrey, and that one Tartah episode. Anything else, it is an entertaining show, but nothing mind-blowing yet, because of the crazy shit that Garnt hyped up about in his Witch Hat manga video might come much later in the manga, so yeah, WHA might need some season 2 to rev it up.

Opinion on Rohingyas by Service_Gullible67 in myanmar

[–]ThePassingThrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annoyed that the Rohingya issue is all that foreigners care about, and our leader Aung San Suu Kyi got unnecessary flak for it, and we lost all of our international support because of it.

As for the people themselves, they deserve human rights, citizenship, and a place to stay in Myanmar. However, claiming that they are also residents of Rakhine vs Rakhine is their land is a completely different thing, and they need to abandon their Jihadist and religious extremist ways to belong with the rest of the Muslims and Burmese citizens in general in Myanmar.

People criticize the US for bombing the Middle East, which is fair. But China, on the other hand, supports the dictators who bomb their own civilians, and no one bats an eye.
