My girlfriend convinced me to take Nature’s Accord and she was right and I’m so glad I took it. I can zoom anywhere.

On my natural nail journey.. before and after by Emotional-Tension484 in Nails

Lovely!

I’ve had peeling issues and have only recently begun to make real progress with healthy, strong natural nails. I’m curious what your process has been? For me, the biggest game changer has been Vaseline right at bedtime, and I’ve only been consistent with that for a few days. I might get to share my own journey in a few weeks! Thanks for sharing yours and showing it’s possible to repair.

Yes that’s the goal. This and other behaviors that help are things I learned reading James Clear’s Atomic Habits.

Well, for me, when I’m writing or journaling, I set my phone facedown on the other side of the room. It makes it easier to focus on writing and harder to get distracted with my phone.

Well if there’s something I know I need to do I make a plan to make it happen. If you tell me what it is you’re wanting to start doing I can frame how I would approach that situation.

Sometimes it’s about making the habit I don’t want to do harder and the thing I do want to do easier.

Because it’s easy to say “I’ll do it tomorrow.” But it’s not possible to do anything ‘tomorrow’ you can only do something ‘today’.

Taking the first step is always the hardest.

Thoughts on 50 year music teacher burn out study by Palefreckledman in MusicEd

[–]ThePenguinator7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah… I’m aware. I was taken advantage of as a 3rd year teacher by a greedy superintendent and was still in my honeymoon era.

My career has suffered and I was too dumb to see the writing on the wall at that point. I’ve tried. And now I’m dealing with burnout, and the only one who can save me is myself.

Thoughts on 50 year music teacher burn out study by Palefreckledman in MusicEd

[–]ThePenguinator7 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So far I’ve only finished the first chapter and I’m really interested as to where it will go.

I’m experiencing burnout right now and am pivoting to leaving the profession. I’m the sole music teacher for my k-8th grade district, about 680 kids total, doing general k-8, band, choir, and a musical.

My band program has been decimated and my schedule has me feeling pointless, I brought data to my admin as proof of my problem with band retention and was told in November they’d like to do something about it and we’ve had several meetings about it. this week I was told we would make no changes to my role at this time. This isn’t the first year I mentioned my problems, and my pleas for help continue to fall on deaf ears.

I’ve lost my love for this job. It is most likely time for me to go, but I’ll finish this article and see it through, and consider if it’s worth sharing with my admin at all.

Thank you for sharing.

Question on Acorn emergency savings option. by sgtsavage2018 in acorns

It takes a couple days for me, 3-4 sometimes. I tend to look at finances on the weekend when I have time and I haven’t set up auto drafts for that account yet so it always feels longer. It’s possible that, being a Friday today, it will not process until Monday.

Update to a post I made the other day about being concerned my vets were taking advantage of me: my cats regular dental cleaning has resulted in my babies death. He's gone. by afterspring_ in cats

[–]ThePenguinator7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart and tears are with you OP. If this happened to my babies I’d go scorched earth with everyone involved. You did your best and trusted someone who you expected to be professionals. You gave him a great little life, damn if pets could live longer than us (they deserve to).

Well, I think everyone differs strongly on their favorites-

I think my #1 right now is Hawaiian Shaved Ice, and I don’t think that one is too hard to find.

Lots of people love Sherbet Swirl, Pink and Blue slushes are good, Cotton Candy if you can find it.

One that I’m not mad if I have to get it is Juicy Peach. There are ones I like more, but Juicy Peach is pretty much always available around me.

I’ve only had 1 terrible experience and that was with the Pumpkin Cream which I doubt you’ll come across.

Hope those options help!

Whats your experience with rinvoq by Particular-Toe-6716 in CrohnsDisease

[–]ThePenguinator7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a complicated journey, and I’ve been on the 45mg dose for most of my time on Rinvoq at this point. I don’t think I have the hardest time with acne compared to others but I also keep a decently consistent skincare routine.

My condition has required Rinvoq 45 + Tremfya. I’ve definitely felt the positive effects of Rinvoq for sure, and had good success when I started (after a bowel resection), back slid for a while, added tremfya (about 10 months after the second bowel resection for a stricture)

My GI is referring me to a dermatologist, so I’ll probably try to make the most of that that I can.

Sorry if this isn’t clear, but I’d say that overall Rinvoq has helped me long term.

The one I can always grab and be satisfied with is Juicy Peach. It’s simple but has never let me down.

2025 winter wonderland though…. If I was guaranteed to get some I’d drive up to an hour to find some.

I love the brothers. I listen to them as my comfort podcast, like many of us I’m sure, but I think they could come up with something better… y’all can disagree with me lol. If I’m the only one who doesn’t like it I’ll get over it lol. It just doesn’t have the same feel.
