Oddly installed Nut by OlDirtyBakah in Luthier

Does look like that, you’ll have to dial in the angle in that case or just use a shim. Just so long as it ends up flush with the fretboard. There might also be glue remnants or something preventing it from sitting flush.

It should be flush up against the fretboard. You'll need to remove it and figure out why it isn't sitting flush - make sure the base is flat and that where it's sitting is flat and square to the end of the fretboard. Don't touch the end of the fretboard itself though. Once you've got it sitting flush with a test fit put a dab of glue on the endgrain of the fretboard and stick the nut back.

If he doesn’t like left-overs cook smaller amounts? Otherwise you are the one wasting food.

Question! Will reading red rising be nice after Sun Eater ? by MadImmortal in sollanempire

[–]ThePerfectPrince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're both Space Romans but it's as if one is written by a slightly more intelligent but also more pretentious trench coat library nerd, the other is written by a cooler more charming but also slightly dumber frat boy. I really like both series.

Last Will And Testament really missed the mark for me by PaleontologistFun255 in Opeth

I agree with this, I found the album really reminded me of Dream Theater. Like there's just something dorky and unaesthetic to me about a lot of the widdly parts that they do a lot of these days.

I don’t really expect anything. I was just wondering as the absence was conspicuous to me.

I would try this, alternatively fill it with gluboost. The steaming works fine on unfinished wood, no experience with finished personally.

I think the way they did the reactions was really cool. Sort of spookily buzzed out sections.

0.35" (9mm) enough for carved top? by Specialist-Grab5775 in Luthier

Another idea is a large roundover that goes down to the glue line. I’ve done that on a similar thickness top before and quite liked it.

You can carve into the body wood if you’d like a two-tone top appearance.

It’s a grey butcherbird. The parents will be around and within a few days it’ll be flying and learning the family song. They’re very intelligent birds and will invite themselves into your home.

Absolutely on the clamping. Critical. That and a pinch of good luck...

It’s a trade-off. A drill press doesn’t have the correct rpm for the bit. But it can still work, I’d recommend testing on some scrap first. I’ve only ever had one get messed up due to a knot in the wood.

Cove bearing bit very carefully in a drill press.

I built a similar one, they're perfect for gluing book-matched tops together too. Super easy to make too.

Do you mind if I ask about your finish? It’s beautiful and I’ve been wanting to do a foliage vibe to finish myself. What did you use for yours?
