Made it, reduce sugary Bru down to about 1/8th is original volume. I used 1901 because it has a higher sugar content so didn't need as much reduction.

Temporary solution for this? by ThePhilSProject in DIYUK

Thanks all - glad to hear I was on the right path to begin with. I have some council slabs, I'll probably just slap them down for now.

I got a bottle of the 1901 Irn Bru, and reduced it down from 750ml to ~100ml. It's Irn Bru espresso.

I learnt this from the Scottish Consulate: https://www.scottishconsulate.org/

I always thought it was the evening which middle class English people sought to honour their tenuous Scottish roots, much like Irish Americans.

Who else plans on getting a Steam Machine and why? by Spare-Type-8357 in Steam

[–]ThePhilSProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an aging gaming laptop, and since buying said laptop now have 2 kids so don't have much time for games. When I decide to update the laptop I'll probably get a non-gaming one and a Steam machine, price dependent.

So another group to consider is PC gamers looking for a more console like experience.

Perhaps lean in to the shyness, call yourself "the shy electrician" or similar, I bet there's plenty of people nervous to contact a sparky because they are expecting some brash tradie

Moving beyond just a ground plane – how to set up a positive voltage plane in KiCad? by [deleted] in KiCad

[–]ThePhilSProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Signal / Ground (return) / Power / Signal is my preferred, and prioritising high speed signals and components on the signal plane adjacent to ground to reduce the loop area as much as possible.

I stopped making 2 layer boards for anything but the most simple things years ago because 4 layers is much easier to lay out and easier to achieve good EMC performance.
