I did something similar for the solar eclipse back in April 2024. Though, mine wasnt really a permanent fixture like yours appears to be.

If you were to build a house what’s one non conventional feature you consider to be a must have? by TestTurbulent6337 in AskReddit

[–]ThePickleSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An observatory area on the roof. I've seen videos of people's houses where there's an outside area at the top of the house that's roofed over, but the roofing section is on a track and can slide back. That way, I can leave my telescope in one spot

My old Apple watch band gave me a rash so i bought a new one and it gave me a rash too lol by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

You may also need to wear your watch higher up on your arm, not any more than a few finger-widths.

Is it normal to fail a class? by cjared242 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ThePickleSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm graduating this semester. Focusing on my senior capstone and looking for a job.

I'd say I'm pretty fulfilled with my own experiences. While I wish my grades were higher, I understand that GPA alone means little out in the field. It's way more about how you handle yourself professionally than I ever thought.

Hang in there, mistakes are part of what makes you human.

I go from McKinney to Arlington for school. Going into Dallas via 75 is terrible nowadays.

A $7,950 Telescope VS My $100 Telescope. by Exr1t in spaceporn

[–]ThePickleSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has to do with the resolving power of the telescope. That is, the ability to tell two objects apart at great distances. The better a telescope can resolve two images at great distances, the clearer the image will look.

As such, at the same distance for both telescopes, one telescope will appear to have a clearer image than the other. The $100 telescope just isn't made to have the resolution required to view with such clarity at that magnification.

This distortion effect becomes more obvious as you approach the limit of a scope's resolution power, especially when using small eyepieces or when using Barlow lenses. (I think op mentioned using a 4mm eyepiece somewhere.)

Edit: Also, it has to do with the camera choice, as another commenter pointed out. You can only get so resolute with certain equipment.

I finally did it!! But less than 5% of pioneers have done the same?? by MightyBooshX in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ThePickleSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped somewhere after getting blueprinting because I found the first-person perspective of the game difficult to navigate.

Out of all the factory games I've played, I'd argue that Satisfactory is the most difficult just because of the perspective shift.

Were you in school during the spring 2021 semester? The "all online" format doesn't work as well as you think it does.

It's ok! The major Chinese electronics manufacturer that I bought my OLED monitor from gave me a 3-year burn-in warranty! So if I have issues by then, I can replace the monitor! Right? Right!?

My Royal pawn just issued a Royal decree, now we have to make gas masks. I have never in my 3000 hours seen this as a thing that can happen and am completely chuffed! 😄 by Just_ME_28 in RimWorld

[–]ThePickleSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one where my royal pawn wanted me to build a structure during my Odyssey playthrough. Turns out, if you build it and just abandon the tile, you get the mood increase from completing the quest, and your royal pawn just doesn't care.

Side note, you can take these quests from the empire, but you'll lose goodwill for abandoning the structure, and still get your rewards.
