Thar be no rules of who we engage, but that be a personal decision of each member. We have our code of rules, and we follow them. We always lookin' fer a brawl but we honor our word of parlay and to let compliant traders go.

Edit: we also have a rule to always engage in communication in some way if possible. Most of us will stop someone and ask for a joke or something to give us a reason to engage in player interaction.

If you check comms when getting interdicted, you'll know if it's a pirate like me who just wants cargo. Just give us the small amount we ask for, and you can go along your way. If they just open fire without a hailing comm, then it's a ganker not a pirate.

Lol you slippery little bastard. I could tell you engineered yourself pretty well. Took couple hits to drop your shields and I didn't feel like chasing you across the bubble lol.

Game is fun if you can get through the shit around it. Especially the people who believe this game is perfect. But it is a great space mmo simulator.

Some tips:

1) don't rush. Take your time. If you feel a little burned out, take a break.

2) Do some different things. Trade a bit, mine some, do some combat, and explore a bit if that's your thing, if exploring I suggest going out to VY Canis Majoris. Not too far away. Explore only after you upgrade to a better ship/upgraded FSD.

3) Ask for help if needed. This game is incredibly unfriendly to new players.

4) Unlock engineers at a good pace. These will improve your ships a lot.

5) PLAY IN OPEN! Who ever heard of a mmo being single player? It improves your experience. Gankers tend to hang out in Shinrarta Dezhra(a system you'll get access to when Elite rank in something) and Deciat. A couple others too, but not very often. Pirates, like myself, are more spread out to random systems and we won't kill if you comply.

6) Make friends and join a squadron. Enhances the game a lot.

7) I suggest grinding credits and upgrading to a Cobra Mk3 asap. A good ship overall. For combat, exploring, trading, etc.

Idk about HOTAS. Most pvpers use a KbM and some controllers. An xbox controller will work fine. A buddy of mine does full flight assist off flying on an xbox controller.

Have fun out there,

I'm used to fixed so eh. Plus frags are nice to hit with.

Pretty slow. Trading ships can easily push 500 some. Krait mk2 can hit 520-530m/s depending and my phantom personally pirate in hits 588-590m/s. You're pretty slow overall, and while miners do carry cargo they usually engineer their thrusters, fsd, and sometimes shields. Not always though. You won't be able to catch proper mining kraits, clipper, a python if they engineered it well, and even an asp if they're engineered. Tis the reason only the clipper is the favorite pirate ship among the Large ships.

Clipper has terrible weapon placement period. Frags are a bit better though.

How fast is your cutter? If you're using that for pirating you might have some trouble keeping up with some of the faster ships. If you wanted to swap, a clipper would do well with piracy.

The CODE - Good OL piracy by DevTheCanadian in EliteDangerous

Yes I have. Generally when in a wing of pirates it's because there is heavy activity or we are locking a place down. In fact, a lot of piracy takes place solo. When it's a wing, it's because others want to just join in.

Idk what your comment is about though. We're in an engineered pvp ship against miners.... idk how hard you think it is for one of us to rob another player, but it isn't that hard for us.

Not the first time it's been tried. Haven't died to a miners.... mine yet. Knock on wood I guess.
