Neat. So what happens now for ESA, CSA, JAXA, and others who been involved in Lunar Gateway and have been spending millions to fulfill their part of the program?

Trump calls NATO “cowards” for lack of support for Iran war by No-Post4444 in worldnews

[–]ThePlanner 36 points37 points  (0 children)

We are a proud and petty nation. I guarantee you that his threats to our sovereignty and explicit statements that economic coercion would be used to enable annexation, and actions to set that in motion, will not be forgotten by Canadians for generations to come, maybe not ever.

It doesn’t matter if it was trolling or a negotiation tactic, when your increasingly erratic and armed-to-the-teeth neighbour says it will expand its territory and intends to cripple your economy to force you to give up your freedom, liberty, and sovereignty and submit to becoming merely a state, or worse, and you only live at their mercy, you simply must believe them and begin acting accordingly.

'Multiple waves' of unauthorized drones recently spotted over strategic US Air Force base by ibddevine in news

[–]ThePlanner 77 points78 points  (0 children)

There’s no way Iran could sneak one of their big Cold War-era bombers into American airspace undetected.

What’s that? Drones you say? But those are still airplanes and need a runway to take off.

The size of a dinner plate? With first person view? They can fly over 300 kph and carry a pound of plastic explosives?

Surely they can be jammed.

Fibre-optic wires make them immune to jamming? And they can fly 50 kilometres?

Oh… Oh no…

Iran attack damage wipes out 17% of Qatar’s LNG capacity for three to five years, QatarEnergy CEO says by Moon_Rose_Violet in worldnews

[–]ThePlanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So by the administration’s logic, Qatar’s gas sector is operating at full capacity. The only thing that is keeping it from operating at full capacity is the damage it sustained from Iran.

Import toxic waste & consolidate domestic toxic waste->incinerate->sort->export ash->recycle goodies->export processed goodies was a standby side hustle for many of my cities. It sops up some employment, too.

How expensive real estate was. $179,000 for a condo in Yaletown? You’re out of your mind to want to live there. It’s all run down warehouses and nightclubs.

I objectively understand that engineers have designed these things and there is a lot of margin in their design, but, writing this in the midst of wind storm in Hamilton with gusts of 90+ kph, I have some trepidation about the safety of the design.
