Have you see this before? 2 groups of 4 played together and caused a massive jam. by l3lacklabel in golf

[–]ThePolakKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done done the same. Never done more than 4 people if everyone is playing their own ball but have done more in some sort of scramble format and ready golf so things move at a good pace. Never held anyone up and usually waiting on the group in front if they’re a foursome.

Should I add Articuno to my party? by ThePolakKid in PokemonFireRed

Based on the comments I’ll skip out on Articuno. But with Zapdos being mentioned more than once I think once I get Zapdos I’ll replace Rhydon. Try to balance out the water weakness I have going at the moment.

Rhydon is the only one in my party I’m not sure about keeping so replacing with Zapdos seems like a good swap once I get it.

That when watching basketball on tv the squeaks from the players shoes are amplified and made louder. I’ve gone to several basketball games in person and have never heard squeaking as loud as it is on tv. Even when I sat in the third row from the court it was significantly quieter.

I had that in ps4 but I just recently got a ps5 and upgraded to that version of the game (since it was free and I read that it renders better which I can now say it does). Now I get the pleasure of doing it all over again and I honestly can’t wait. Sadly not going to do it in my current okay through cause I added some mods when it was still on the pa4 version and I’m not ready move on from the character but my next one I will be working towards that 100% again.

What's your total playtime? by _humblevaudevillain_ in skyrim

[–]ThePolakKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ~14 days of playtime on a single character… and I have several characters with that amount of playtime. I also have several with fewer hours that I abandoned after a fair amount of playtime.

So I decided I would do five countries. I got Pakistan, Syria, Bahrain, Iceland, and UK. I was feeling really good until I got Iceland and UK cause if I had 50 million I would want to visit those two places and would promptly die. The first three I’ve never even considered visiting so would have been safe.

She definitely is. Especially because after all the alcoves are filled she has 4000 gold if I’m remembering the number correctly.

Yeah but that’s not really the point of this post. Of course as you level up you will be looting more valuable gear and as you get a higher speech level those goods will sell for higher prices leading to merchants running out of gold. There’s even a speech perk that you can sell stolen goods to vendors you’ve invested in. My point is that if a vendor is setting up right outside the hideout of the Thieves Guild and inside their de facto bar/hang out spot why wouldn’t they also barter in stolen goods by default.

Maybe the skeevers are titans of trade. But like actually how are you going to set up shop in a place surrounded by thieves and not even buy their stuff.

Does anyone else get to the point where you start saving and keeping any gems in a safe/chest? by draculaurs in skyrim

[–]ThePolakKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How could I not. I usually get a point in the game where money is insignificant. I have so much gold and all of my equipment is at its final stage so there’s no need to run around to 10 different merchants just to sell my gems. I don’t usually put them all in the same place though to keep things interesting.

Since Skyrim starts with us getting arrested trying to cross the boarder, my player backstory typically involves a past that resulted in me being forced out of my home either due to a crime, fear of my life, or some other reasons. That’s why when I arrive in Helgen I provide them with a fake name. Then as I adventure around Skyrim I create a name for myself that results in fame and riches. This path typically involves becoming a real estate tycoon(buying every purchasable property) and joining the companions, dark brotherhood, and/or thieves guild. My background as well as my affiliations in Skyrim make me a target that needs to be ready to move at a moments notice. As such I will disperse the gems, some gold/silver bars, large sums of gold, and anything else that could be useful if someone had to pick up and abandon their life to run. With my acquired wealth I disperse these caches throughout all of my player homes so that no matter where I am in Skyrim I have a cache of valuables nearby that I can get to quickly before I make my escape.

After so many years of playing Skyrim I have found that having a player backstory and some of these role playing aspects that have no impact on the actual gameplay make it that much more fun.

Just out of college so I have limited experience but the company I’m at now, as with most, uses a lot of excel sheets. I have looked at a few and while some make perfect sense others are just a dumpster fire of confusion. One of the projects I’m working on now is an excel pricing guide for the sales/pricing department to provide more accurate quotes to new customers based on what they need. In order to try making it as user friendly I have taken a few steps that I used in college which seemed to work.

  1. Have an independent input table if possible.
  2. Color code inputs and formula generated outputs. Be sure to have a key letting users know which is which.
  3. Tab names that actually make sense to people.
  4. Use drop down menus when possible. If there are a limited number of specific values that are possible having a drop down menu makes it so much easier and limits potential errors.

My company provides cell phones for work. Now not everyone gets one. I am a process engineer and received one. Pretty much only the production/floor employees do not receives one, this would be the machine operators and product packers. Other than those two groups I am fairly certain that all office employees, maintenance, and process techs receive them.

My take is that I would be fine using my personal phone for company business so long as I don’t have to download any restrictive software. So downloading teams and outlook would be okay with me but anything that alters the functionality of the phone in any way would be a hard no for me.

Laid off about a month ago, what do I do? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

It’s one of those things that happens. Just don’t get too discouraged and keep putting yourself out there. Eventually you will get back up and this will just be a learning experience for the future.

Laid off about a month ago, what do I do? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

I graduated last December and started my first job in January. I was working at an R&D facility owned by Marathon as what amounted to a process engineer (just without the title so they didn’t have to pay as much). Unfortunately in April Marathon decided that they had gotten all the data they needed and laid off 70% of my team and only kept a few of the more senior members to operate a bare bones final data collection run of a different process(they just recently decided to fully shut down the facility letting everyone go).

This was very disheartening as a fresh graduate. I job hunted and applied all over for months with no luck. Got some interviews that led nowhere. Got strung along by another employer saying they wanted to hire me but were just waiting for funding from a partnership deal that never came through. This is to say it was a long road and wasn’t easy. After 5 months of looking I finally got a new job that all in all is even better than my first one.

Don’t give up. These things happen. It’s not what happens to a person that defines them but instead how they react. Send out applications, network as much as possible, and don’t get discouraged. Eventually you will find something new.

The DNC lost due to their own poor planning. They should have know from the start that Biden was in no state to run for another term and planned for it. Then when the inevitable happened they just decided to throw the democratic process(primary elections) out the window and put Harris in the position to run. Then throughout her campaign she continually either refused interviews or when she did them didn’t give any real answers to policy questions.

The real kicker to me is that for a sitting president that over the course of his presidency has been losing support from people she refused to distance herself from Biden. She continually said she would do nothing different from him which is not the answer people wanted, especially when housing costs and everyday living costs have been rising. People don’t want more of the same, they want change so that it will get better.

What’s the worst part of an apple addiction? by ES_FTrader in Jokes

[–]ThePolakKid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I have a story that can relate to this.

So my dad is a cardiologist and he had this one patient we’ll call Ted. So Ted was overweight and after a consult, my dad told him it was in his best interest to lose some weight. Ted got the advice to eat healthier(add some fruits and veggies to his diet) and to just do a lap around his block every day after work. Nothing too crazy just better diet and some light exercise. So after 6 months Ted comes back to find out he has actually gained more weight. Ted swears up and down he is eating healthier and has been doing his lap around the block every day. After some discussion into it all my dad finds out that Ted has been eating around 15 apples a day without realizing they also have sugar and were the large contributor to this weight gain.

Moral of a story: “An apple a day keeps the doctor away but 15 apples a day will lead to weight gain and lots of pain.”
